Ivy's character kinda get portrayed in many different ways, like she's a different character each time, but Harley Quinn always is Harley Quinn. Even in the little kid's show she's in character.

Yeah Ivy is varying between seductive vamp and a nerd who is harley's only voice of reason. In theory both types are in character, but they got the nuances completely different every time. I think the latest Harley Quinn's Ivy is the psychologically most mature, accurate and believable one.

Oh one thing I'd like to add: Since back then lots of female characters were designed in the image of the sexual fantasies of the mostly male audience, Ivy was designed more after some kind of female sexual archetype, less like a real life person. Since the archetypical female roles were already given to catwoman and ivy, and since there had to be a really good explanation, why someone falls in love with the Joker, they had to make Harley's character more complex by design in the first place. Until the age of female emancipation, she lasted with the longest history of a three dimensional female character and now since culture and society changed, it was finally Harley's time to come.

Luke Baldock “she gets away with it because she’s a woman” hell no don’t pull that dumbass gender card. Joker has gotten away with his abuse towards Harley FOR YEARS and it’s always been heavily romanticized. Yes Ivy’s done terrible shit, she’s a villain but she’s never once mistreated Harley like how Joker does. Joker abuses Harley in every way possible. Ivy tries to make Harley see that by being real with her.

It's called deadheading, it's where you cut off fully bloomed flowers to encourage more flowers to bloom, there's other reasons to do it too but I think that's why she was doing it

Honestly seeing harvey as a therapist who majored in psychology I wish she could use things she has learned in her field to pull mind games on other people, that would make her character infinitely cooler but instead she just mimics similar tactics to what joker does but .. less. It would be so cool to see her manipulate people etc, her character has a perfect backstory to make a really successful and awesome villain (not that she isn't already)

It just bugs me when media always talk about people straight, gay/lesbian, and/or transgender, but ignore everyone else, even when other forms of sexuality make more sense in the context of certain media, but media still likes to pretend no one else exists, undermining everyone thats not screaming their ideals.

That's one of the main reasons I hate that show. There are no villains, everyone's a hero, James Gordon knows his daughter is Batgirl when the only time he's ever known that he flipped his shit and started hunting down Batman for endangering his daughter's life. DC's Super Hero Girl's is the worst. On top of all that the whole point of the show is to focus on strong female heroes but they take away everything from those characters that makes them such inspiring heroes in the first place. Batgirl doesn't wait around for her father's approval of anyone else for that matter she does what she thinks is right regardless of whatever anyone else wants her to do. DC super hero Girl's she's just living in the shadow of her dad and batman and doesn't really do much of anything besides go to school like a regular kid but in full Batgirl costume for no good reason. It's the dumbest thing I've ever seen. I don't believe anyone working on that series knows anything about these characters or women for that matter. It's basically just a knock off of Bratz/Monster High... but with Super Heroes.

I love how their relationship evolved over the years From just friends, deeply care about each other, Ivy helping Harley get out of an abusive relationship and how they spent so many years together that it developed into love These two are really amazing female characters, I hope to see them in the big screen soon

I’m impressed of how many times Tara Strong voiced either side of the duo. She is one Grade A Voice Actor she’s one over 100 Voices Roles. Even Jenifer Hale did over 100 roles too, she didn’t just do Poison Ivy in Batman: The Brave & the Bold also Ice, Zatanna & Killer Frost.

Please look at 12:02 this is my life, even if they're fighting they both doing in probably the most peacefully way they can without hurting one another except the obvious physical aspect of them fighting. Did you see how Harley was trying to talk some sense into Ivy? Compared to other fights she goes all for it. And the way they held a playful yet threatening argument with each other? They're used to holding threats to others but when it comes to them they half stand those threats.

I like how in Harley Quinn Ivy's origin made a bit of change that Harley was her psychologist or therapist and that's what made her so close with Harley cuz she's the only one who got through Ivy despite her hatred for humans.

Ambre Vigneron which one? Cause if you’re talking about the one where she looks like a doll and has a bright green dress I completely agree. The one on Netflix though is actually more ivy than I’ve ever seen (minus the seductive portion which isn’t there cause she’s a teenager). She’s absolutely in love with plants to the point where it’s the only iteration where she’s a pure carnivore, she doesn’t even eat fruits or vegetables

I do appreciate through all the iterations, they get along but are able to call each other out on their bullshit (like Harley’s terrible relationship with the joker and Ivy’s sometimes jaunts into madness). I think it’s good they are able to see each other’s flaws and still have each other’s backs

I know especially her Harley Quinn voice is very annoying to hear and she sounds nothing like Arleen Sorkin. I guess she needs to be replaced by another, more accurate sounding voice actress that matches Arleen, especially with the new BTAS revival that coming out in the near future if they pick Tara I’m going to flip out, but her poison ivy voice sounds decent. However I would recommend Tasia Valenza to voice Poison Ivy in the new series.
