Fun fact - the actor who played Shooter didn't want the role initially because he did not want to be typecast. They convinced him by letting him play golf, he's a passionate player and all the amazing Shooter puts are real, by the actor.

Here's a cool story that just happened this year. A kid on the bird app with the legal name Happy Gilmore just announced that he is going to play golf at Ball State. Both Adam Sandler and Shooter quote-tweeted it and Sandler wished him good luck. He also said in his post that yes, he can do the Happy Gilmore shot.

Bob Barker yep he is still going. He probably could still host the price is right at 99. He was a avid golfer as well. In fact every time they played hole in one He would always do a inspirational putt. 95 percent of the time he made it. He would tell the contestant nice and easy. So good reference to that game. Adam Sandler even made a surprise appearance on the price is right thanking Bob Barker. He wrote a poem saying Bob Barker kicked my butt

Fun fact: The IRS agent Happy beats up is played by Robert Smigel aka the voice/puppeteer of Triumph the Insult Comedy Dog. Edit: Another fun fact Virginia Venit is played by Julie Bowen aka Claire Dunphy from Modern Family and Happy's former boss is played by Richard Kiel aka Jaws from the James Bond Franchise.

I remember watching this as a kid and clutching my stomach from laughing so hard when they had the extended scene of Happy cussing up a storm when the ball wouldn't go in the hole. It's so good. This movie is absolutely ridiculous and I love Adam Sandler for never adhering to reality.

When I was a kid I taped this off a TV broadcast of it, so every time I watched it, it was "Edited for Television." When Chubbs said "Spoken like a true asshole" the edited version had him say "Spoken like a true airhead," and everytime I watch the real version of this movie, the "Asshole" takes me by surprise. (And, yes, I know that's worded weird.)

This is back when Adam Sandler had very anger fuelled, bipolar comedy. Things started to change with The Wedding Singer. But here, he’s still very much a 13 year old boy in a man’s body with anger management problems. How ironic.

There is a deleted scene where Happy actually punches Ben Stiller's character in the face after he sees what's happening in the retirement home. The guy who played as Mr. Larson (dude with nail in his head), is the same dude who played as Jaws in James Bond (he unfortunately passed away not to long ago).

I loved Shooter McGavin as a character, he's one of my all time favourite villains next to Biff Tannen from Back to the Future. Happy Gilmore is a guilty pleasure movie for me, I've watched it probably 100 times easily.

Richard Kiel, the actor who played the guy with the nail in his head, passed away at St. Agnes Medical Center here in Fresno CA back in 2014.

My father and his best friend, Clyde, would play cribbage against each other. On its own, cribbage is as dry as burnt toast, but the BS these two would throw at each other made it truly entertaining. The cards would be dealt for the first hand.... Dad: Ready to give up? ...and so it starts.
