Күн бұрынThe 19th-ranked Miami Hurricanes delivered with an 81-59 home win over the Duke Blue Devils. Norchad Omier led the Hurricanes in scoring with 17 points, and added 10 rebounds, 2 steals and a block in the win. Jordan Miller scored 16 points, Wooga Poplar added 14 and Isaiah Wong pitched in 11 as the Hurricanes shot 48% from the floor in the win. Ryan Young and Dereck Lively II led the Blue Devils with 11 points each.

Wow!!! I been watching Canes since the rebirth of the program. Eric Brown, Dennis Burns, Titi Horford and Kevin Presto days. With this confidence builder I will be disappointed if we don't go deep in the dance. I'm talking sweet 16, Elite 8, Final 4 and ???. This team has the coaching, talent and depth to bring home that first ever championship ring the football and baseball programs have blessed us with. Go Canes!!!

Jack I'm a diehard Duke fan and I'm in complete agreement with you about this Canes' team's postseason potential! Right now they're totally healthy unlike us and playing at their 2022 NCAA tournament level!

I wouldn't judge a team by how they play Duke, because teams almost always play over their heads when they play Duke playing their best game all season; seldom repeated. That's the best I've seen anyone play against Duke in years.

@@sully-alacumba I partially agree with you Keith because of the jersey saying Duke that players up their game a notch! But Miami is very experienced, well coached and have been playing extremely well besides the Duke win! I believe that at the moment they are the best team in the ACC! We'll see further down the line, but I think their experience and depth will be a dangerous combination in a crazy deep and balanced college basketball landscape! This year's March Madness could exceed all others in being the most wide open

Isn't it par for the course that as soon as Duke loses people go on Twitter and bash Duke left and right just because of their dislike for Duke! And deliberately ignoring the proper perspective in relation to the game itself! It's always "Duke sucks", "this is absolutely pathetic" or my favorite "this is the worst Duke team ever"! My God people need to gain some reality rather just rushing to passing judgment! We're talking about the youngest cumulative overall Duke team in their ACC conference history and a coach being put in this situation taking over for a legend! Here's a fact no one seems to mention - Duke is 17-7 with that youngest team and of our 24 games, we've played 1 full 40 minutes with our entire roster available and this was the third time already we've had to turn around after 1 off day (not really off days considering travel) and play on a Monday, this one being against the team I think right now is the best in the league! Duke was coming off an extremely taxing emotionally charged win against our most hated rival, have to travel almost 1,000 miles on an off day, then tip not even 48 hours after the Carolina win! I get the hatred for Duke but some need to see the game for the game before offering up their partial and biased opinions! Scheyer has gotten more out of this team than I expected! This result had more to do with the fact that Miami is the better team right now and they deserve all the credit

And what I meant by the 1 full 40 minutes is that of Duke's 24 games, we've played 23 of them with one or more key player being out injured or sick! It's truly remarkable they've gotten 17 wins out of that

Give us 2 more guys like Norchad who are about 6 foot 9 0r 10 inches tall and Miami would be #1 in the Country. This team isn't that far from winning a National Championship but they have to get a little better rebounding and better low post offensive scorers in the paint.

I'm a diehard Duke fan and Drock, I'd like to know too! Because I knew after our emotionally taxing win over Carolina that Miami would beat us! Miami is more experienced and just overall better! The Canes at the moment are the best team in the ACC, then Virginia

@@bradychick6535 Which is a good thing considering how much of a clusterf--k the ACC is in the middle and the necessity of having those wins on our resume! All I was saying was we were emotionally drained after the Carolina win with only one day off (and that was a near 1,000 mile travel day)! We had no time whatsoever to decompress after an emotionally invested win

The combination of taking over for a sporting legend along with having the youngest cumulative team in the 69 years Duke has been in the league! Despite that and playing three games after one day off, we have 17 wins! It's absolutely remarkable

According to ESPN Stats and Info, No. 19 Miami defeats Duke 81-59. The Blue Devils suffer multiple 20-point losses in ACC play for the 1st time since 1982-83 (4x).

@Corey Rowe not this season, no. But until I see this over the course of multiple seasons, it's an over reaction. Plenty of "down" Duke seasons from the past to use as reference. However, all of that being said.....not to say they'll get on a run by any means. But I wouldn't be looking forward to playing this type of low seeded Duke team on a neutral court. In any round. If I really had to guess, they'll make the sweet 16 and get beat. To me, less would be a real letdown and more would be a real eye opener.

No, it's just Duke vs unc. Whether they are awful or not, it's always Duke vs unc which will get attention. However, both teams are below average luke warm at best. Definitely not the Duke or unc teams of the past.

Ass whipping. Knew it was coming too, since pre-season. Unless duke proved to be world beaters, this L was coming and wasn't gonna be close. Miami plays well at home annually. Duke plays so so when they visit South Florida. Duke coming off of UNC, is always a trap game. Duke took a close one the last 2 meeting from the canes. This same bunch. They haven't forgotten either. Congrats to the canes. Well coached team full of talent. Duke - go home, heal up. Attempt to take a big road win vs UVA. That one holds alot more weight.

get rid of scheyer now, this is not the duke I know, we need riq back and we need to play schutt, I know he is a defensive liability but if he can shoot just play him like the top 50 recruit he is. Duke needs shooting. I expect him to be playing some very key minutes in the tournament.

Your being utterly ridiculous with that "get rid of Scheyer"! 1) he's taking over for an amateur sport coaching legend, 2) this is the youngest cumulative Duke team in the 69 years they've been in the ACC and 3) we've played 23 of our 24 games (the full 40) with either one or more key guys out of the lineup (no consistent chemistry, shades of 2016-17)! The Virginia game will mark only the second game we've had everybody available (and hopefully for both halves)! You need to be real and consider all aspects instead of rushing to a hasty judgment! What Scheyer had to inherit was difficult enough without the inexperience and injury/flu drama
