It does look sloppy. Some mistakes on defense that would've gotten you benched for good most likely as far as I'm concerned. I think the quality of college athletes has gone down slightly in the past 15 years.

D1 have many teams, the top 20 teams are good level. But the other teams are just so mid compare to Europe

I literally can't tell the level of some of these matches. I played on a top ten D3 team about 15 years ago but I swear I watch D1 sometimes and it looks like it's much easier because there's about 90% less constant pressure. I will say I watched clips of Akron recently and it looked close to MLS quality. A lot of variance in the level of play across NCAA soccer.

@@mikesgarage18 I played my youth in Brazil, the quality and pace of the game between U-15 to U-19 is incredibly different there compare to D1 soccer here. I can assure you, most Brazilian U-21 teams can smoky any of these D1 schools in the US. Look at the quality of the Youth UEFA matches as well, it’s so incredible. US has a lot to grow and personally I don’t think in the path of college isn’t the way to develop players to compete against other nations that actually has good youth development.

@@thiagopereira6707 i agree that it's not necessarily best for development, but it doesn't leave kids out to dry when it turns out they aren't cut out to go pro. college soccer allows them to play competitive soccer and have a chance to go pro while still being able to get a higher education if things dont work out

How is this D1, there is no keeping possession of the ball, everyone plays a long pass as soon as they get it. The technical quality is also very much lacking.

Poor time management on the Refs part and whoever was working the clock. The goal was scored at 2:52 left in the game. Not 1:36. Would it have made a difference probably not. Also how does Thor not get 2 yellows both for taunting or unsportsman conduct, if not 2 then at least 1? He taunted two people on two occasions and neither the ref or his coach did anything until he almost caused another fight. Most Christian Laettner thing but its duke soo

UCLAA’s mid-field sucks, and their right and left wingers don’t provide good assist to the strikers. That goes for the mid-field players as well.

futebol isnt like that you will never see an opponent make fun of a goalkeeper cause of the he dived also my man went out of his way to do that if something like that happened here in England that man would have gotten his head punched and then maybe kicked cause he went down at the end of the day his jokes will reflect badly on him and duke cause of unsportsmanlike behaviour, if hever tries to enter the draft some gm will pass on him and duke could potentially lose recruits.

They have an outsized amount of opportunities to waste time, so yeah, he's obviously going to be the target of mockery. Mocking him for diving is a bit odd, yeah, but I think these are just kids who don't always have the linguistic tools to convey themselves. Either way, glad the underdog won
