Is Freedom CAPPED? 5x Freedom Worth It? Does It COUNTER Vines & CC Increase? ⚔️New World

Freedom is a much discussed perk in New World. Lately, a rumor has been going around that Freedom may be capped at 50%. Subsequently, it has been debated if having 5x Freedom on your armor is even worth it. There are also some unusual interactions between CC increases from heavy armor and 300 con, Freedom and Grasping Vines. As such, let's once again test if Freedom is actually worth using!

You have to take into consideration that on the US servers ... they have passive Freedom buff from the Constitution!

nice testing. realy good. do a sumery about all this reductione perks. in one viid. and test them all. feel some time nofing work. and can u reduse the stager efect at all.

Don't some abilities have passives to increase stun duration and freedom doesn't work on those? I didn't catch if you mentioned that, but would of been interesting to show the results. I'd imagine this goes for things like weaken/rend vs invigorated etc as well.

Pretty sure freedom only works on base duration.

What if the defender is in Medium Armor and not in Light? Would 5x Freedom still be worth it. since he has an additional 10% cc defense from beeing medium?

how does crippling (29% increased slow duration on ring) effect people with freedom? (is the increase effected)

It should be, yeah. So it should counteract freedom the same way heavy armor/300 con does, which matches my experience attempting to use slow-focused builds.

@@DukeSloth what items do you use for slow focus build? I have SnS leaping strike. Slow ring with slash dmg and secondary great axe with reap improved reap charge and whirlwind.

The problem with freedom at the moment is that it doesn't reduce the whole stun duration in case of an upgraded shield bash, but only its base duration. Also, freedom has no effect on perks like Unending Thaw, so you get a full 2 sec slow, which is silly to be honest.

sadly no. i think freedom should bc stagger, knockdown is a form of CC

@z543 is right, sadly not at all. Afaik the only way to counter stagger is grit or uninterruptible.

@@DukeSloth feels good but only like.. Cold pizza good? I think they need all secondary ring stuff like crippling, poison, burning etc to increase to 100% even or start at 66%

My last set of tests with 300 CON and Heavy showed that it does affect Vines, but only against builds with Freedom as well.

think old rule of thumb was 3 freedom or 5

FREEDOM like VIGOR like INVIGORATED BLYATMENT dont work on ADDED SLOW oR ADDEEED burn OR ADDDEED weakneing or bleeding or burning added slow that u get on weapon perks SKILL TREE so on so forth

No, knockdowns are weird. They count as staggers and seem to be locked in duration.

Continuous application of same cc reduces duration by half. We have grit vs stagger. We have uninterruptable vs all cc. 🤔

Vines are capped at 3s; Heavy and 300 CON will not push it beyond this duration, but they will cancel out Freedom (if you have both, it cancels out 4x Freedom).

Freedom perk on lego are overpriced. With 300 stre nobody wouldn't worry about anything, just save the gold for better perk

Freedom is kinda iffy if you get unstunned from any hit. And there is nonstop damage coming from everywhere in OPR and arena. But for duels 5 freedom is BIS

If you are good at the game, freedom is not that usefull. Freedom is only strong against roots and there is very few of them. The 2 strongest being vines and scream. You dont see many of them to begin with in any pvp content. In wars you can also play around the vg players or vine players by using cleanse pot effectively

If you play a war without freedom perks on armor you are basically bench in every roaster, every class (except for bow and musket) need at least 3 freedom, better if you have 4 or 5 freedom

@@dontouchlollo2382 probably played more wars than you, x2 times. What you are saying is bs. I tested with 5 freedom and its overrated in wars. Most players just are braindead monkeys following what their gurus tell them to do. Critical thinking on this game is very low. Freedom helps you when you arent good at dodging and positionning. If you know when to clump and declump, freedom is useless. Especialy in wars with cleanse pots. I prefer playing with 5 refreshing, which reduces all my cd by about 4-5s than being able to reduce some roots 1s, which i dodge or cleanse anyway. As i usualy say : get good
