6:20: Years ago when I used to work for a food distributor that delivered to a lot of schools, one driver caught a kid trying to steal from the back of his tandem axle refrigerated truck. He slammed down the roll down door, turned up the refrigeration unit as cold as it would go, and drove to the next high school (and not gently). When he opened the door, the kid said he was going to tell on him, and the driver told him to go ahead and tell that he got caught stealing. He never heard anything more about it.

The reason why shoplifting is so prevelent is because there are no longer any consequences for it. If you don't get caught you get free stuff. If you do get caught you just have to give the stuff back. That's it. You may get shamed but these people have no shame.

Hate thieves. If theyre a thief, then theyre also a liar and a hypocrite. Its long past due that thieves are given the tested and proven deterrent of having fingers removed and if the stealing persists, then remove whole hands so they cant steal again. The vast majority of thieves arent even poor and stealing food. Theyre decrepit thieves who are stealing to get possessions to fill a desire to have for themselves or to sell to get money for drugs.
