For everyone concerned about me not washing my meat, here's why. This is straight from the FDA! Washing raw poultry, beef, pork, lamb, or veal before cooking it is not recommended. Bacteria in raw meat and poultry juices can be spread to other foods, utensils, and surfaces. We call this cross-contamination. Some consumers think they are removing bacteria and making their meat or poultry safe. However, some of the bacteria are so tightly attached that you could not remove them no matter how many times you washed. But there are other types of bacteria that can be easily washed off and splashed on the surfaces of your kitchen. Failure to clean these contaminated areas can lead to foodborne illness. Cooking (baking, broiling, boiling, and grilling) to the right temperature kills the bacteria, so washing food is not necessary. Using a food thermometer is the only sure way of knowing if your food has reached a high enough temperature to destroy foodborne bacteria. Cook all raw beef and veal steaks, roasts, and chops to a minimum internal temperature of 145°F as measured with a food thermometer before removing meat from the heat source. For safety and quality, allow meat to rest for at least three minutes before carving or consuming. For reasons of personal preference, consumers may choose to cook meat to higher temperatures.

For those wanting to brown ground beef ahead, one pound is about two cups browned, drained and crumbled. I usually will go ahead and brown mine with onion and seasonings, in bulk... then I just divide up among freezer bags... I split a five pound bag among four freezer bags... that way I have slightly more than a pound in each.

Hi Kelly! I just came across your vlog, I am excited to try these recipes, I am a country gal, love to cook, a friend bought me a crock pot, had never used one, I had a pork butt, saw a recipe for it, sliced a yellow onion, layered it in bottom of crock pot, set pork on top, then layered more onion on top of pork, no water involved, then added BBQ sauce all over it, a container full, low for 7 hours, we had never had pulled pork, I am telling you, it was the best, I had bought some rolls, we split those, we ate that for 5 days straight, I have a teenager and he was happy! ha ha A recipe for someone else to use also, thanks for the recipes, I will try them!

I bought a mini Crockpot after my husband passed away, I make homemade versions of Hamburger Helper, noodles or pasta will cook in the sauce. You can use tomato or Alfredo with either one or you can use leftover rice instead, chicken, ground beef or tuna can be used as well. Any combination of veggies or a can of corn, green beans, peas, or carrots can be added for variety. The food cooks in 15-20 minutes and serves 2 people if you add a salad and rolls, corn bread, or biscuits just out of the oven. It's great for one person too. Hope this helps someone who lives alone.

One of my favorites: Dump taco soup. I cook 1 lb of ground beef and season it with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. While that is cooking I add into my crock pot: 1 can of yellow corn, 1 can of ranch beans, 1 can of black beans, 1 can of diced tomatoes, and 1 can of rotel. Once in a while for some extra heat, I'll chop a fresh jalapeño that I seeded. Once I've mixed all the veggies, I add the meat after it's done cooking and let it cook on high for about 30 minutes. Sprinkle some shredded cheese and ta da!

One of my favorites is what we call "Fiesta Lime Chicken". Its 2 raw chicken breast, or whatever you want. Cover them in the juice of 2 limes, add zest if you want. (I leave it out usually, as a few members of my family prefer a subtle lime). Next cover the chicken in taco seasoning. Premade is fine. Finally dump 1 jar of your favorite salsa. Cook on low for 6 hours. We serve these with refried beans, tortillas shells, rice corn on the cob and/or taco seasoned home fries.

Thank you so much for the recipes! I agree about not washing meat and it’s annoying you had to pin that bc so many people had something the say, look it up yourself and do what YOU do for yourself. Point of video was easy awesome croc pot meals and that was achieved 120%, the bonus is your awesome dog in the background!🥳... I follow the same guidelines on my channel and food is so important as it’s the #1 source going into our body! It’s seriously overlooked, happy health y’all!

Health Savage Here’s the thing if you don’t know how to rinse your meat directly in the sink without water splashing around then I’m going to question you. Secondly meats are handled in factories where people are coughing, sneezing picking their nose, is and dropping stuff ,so when you are washing it it is to wash all of those particles off that can’t be removed when cooking. I don’t understand why anybody would just open a pack of meat and throw it in a pan,and not rinse any debris off because essentially that’s what you’re looking to rinse off, not the fact that you can cook the germs out of meat.

Sofluential please re read my comment if you feel the need to respond directly to me. Do what YOU do*. You don’t have to understand what anyone else does, with all due respect. Also, as if it needed to be said a third time, cooking the meat at the recommended temperature kills all harmful bacteria, so the point IS - when washing* it you’re MORE at risk of splashing harmful bacteria all around the sink, countertop, faucet etc, so the next person who comes to clean their hands gets it unknowingly all over themselves. That, was the point of her comment and I couldn’t agree more.

Use to tongs to move the chicken around a bit and let sauce get everywhere. 4 on high or 6 on low, take chicken out and shred, stir in fresh bbq, done! Starting this today before church. I love turkey kielbasa cut up into one inch pieces on an angle, sautéed until brown in non stick pan, 2 tsp olive oil, remove set aside. Using the same pan add two cups of sliced red peppers (or any kind you like) 1 sliced yellow onion, sautéed until tender. season with salt pepper, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, fresh cilantro. Add the meat back in mix well. Serve mixture warm over rice or noodles. Not a crock pot meal but still very quick and easy.

One our our family favorites that can be a dump and go crock pot, or in the oven is called “Cranberry Chicken” it’s a lot like a sweet and sour chicken and is perfect over rice. You need: Chicken breasts 2 cans of whole berry cranberry sauce 2 packets of Lipton dry onion soup mix 1 bottle of French Salad dressing Mix the last 3 ingredients together in crock pot and then add chicken. Cook until chicken is done. AMAZING!!

My favorite dump and go is super simple. Boneless skinless chicken breast and or boneless skinless chicken thighs. Chop it in about A1 in dice. Add a jar of salsa do the Crock-Pot mix in the chicken. If you feel like you need another jar of salsa go ahead. Mix in 1 packet of taco seasoning. Cook until chicken is cooked through. Add about a cup of corn either drain canned corn or frozen corn allowed to cook just a few more minutes for the corn to cook through. Steve over steamed rice or Mexican rice. Any leftovers I store it in the fridge when I'm ready to eat it I had a little cheese heat it up and throw it into a tortilla

Crockpot ribs: One rack of ribs, dried and remove the white membrane on the back. Season with 1/2 brown sugar, 1-2 tablespoons of salt and pepper. I cut my rack down the middle and place the meat side to the wall of crockpot. Cook on high for 4-6 hours or on low for 7-8 hours. Take out and brush with bbq sauce if desired. I usually shred it up and make sandwiches but you could eat it with anything really.
