Dude I just got into driving a Dump Truck 3 weeks ago but before I went I watched the hell out of your video to make sure I had this down and man did it help!!! Made me look like I almost knew what I was doing!!! Great Video!!!

Had my cdl B's for almost a year cant find work without experience so I got a dump truck company employee to verify for me but I never drove a dump truck. I'm watching these vids hoping to learn enough to pass the interview driving process. Did your employer take you through a detailed testing ? Just curious...

@@universallaw8850 sorry for getting back so late I suck at keeping up with this whole KZfaq thing, first off if you got the job congratulations, if not keep at it eventually somebody will give you a chance, but as far as my employer training I actually grew up around trucks so I could dive a big truck before I had my license. But I know some companies will train you or sent you to a school.

@@1910bigmac Your absolutely right I now drive a heavy duty 26 ft box truck for a metal distributor they even trained me on a manual 10 speed so now I don't have any restrictions. Next step hazmat and tanker......more money.

The tri axle is to add stability because a tri axles main job is to spread rock and by letting the tri axle down it is easier to spread rock on a slight slope

would be cool if somebody could make a video on going thru the controls of different garbage trucks. In this video i saw the PTO , (had air brakes ) , Was a manual , but not so sure what some of the buttons and levers are for completely. As the video was a little blurry and quick. Nice video as it is always nice to get to see what the internals are of different vehicles.

actually no, the lift axle is to be able to carry more weight legally than if it was only a tandem truck, it does help to stop because is an extra set of brakes.

Yes all tri-axles are the same but the lift axle could be in a different place beside the one mine was in

great video. one question, I know you let the clutch out to lift the dump bed but do you have to push the clutch back in when its up in order for the engine not to stall once its all the way up?

Really you only need the clutch to engage the pto. You can knock the hoist in neutral without using the clutch and the bed will still stop

I know tri axle is for more weight. Why put it down when raised bed?

Putting axle down when raising the bed can help with stability, also it can be put down when dumping in a paver for example and going downhill can add as an extra set of brakes

no once PTO is in it can be disengaged out without the clutch. However it is highly recommended that you do. Me personally I do.
