At Christmas time ladies were buying lampshades at Goodwill - cutting the metal on top and making them into tree skirts... super cute..

Yes! I just learned about those things (apparently they’re called “tree collars”), and pre-made ones can be pricey. I was thinking about making one from either a thrifted lampshade or basket.
