If you have a wood sander, sand down the edges where the bowl is broken, and use the opening for a spoon rest.

Steph, if you want a project, Sand the inside of the break. Then, with good tape, tape the inside of the bowl, on the curve. then fill with resin. when set sand and plish. it would be beautiful.

Wooden bowl, "what do you guys think I could do with this?" Sand the broken part down into a Smooth 'pouring lip'. Apply appropriate wood sealer, and a couple layers of varnish, and/or lacquer. (I haven't water/weather proofed wood before, so check to what works.) All this with the intended purpose of becoming part of a "Water fall Cement piece" that, at least in my head, looks fulfilling to create. I don't know if it is a thing that both Steph, and Steve would work on together, but if that could wotk for y'all guys it could make a great piece, and video. Note: the broken pie plate could be sanded, like the wooden bowl but with the sanded side placed into the cement, and used as a shelf landing in a multi landing waterfall.

You can use the bowl as a bath for butterflies and bees. Put a few rocks in the bottom and then put a little bit of water. Don't cover the rocks completely and set by flowers . I just seen a video of this. 🙂

@@StevenStephResaleKillers Some finishes put on decorative wood are toxic to animals, so I wouldn't use this way. Love the fairy garden idea if you sand down the broken bits.

Kwik Wood to fill in the missing bit on the wooden bowl. It's super easy to work with and easy to sand. Then tape off with frog tape and do a decorative paint job to cover the fixed part.

Hi Steph, in my opinion, an employee doesn’t really have the right to tell you that you can’t take something from a dumpster because when it’s in the dumpster, it’s discarded. They are throwing it away so let somebody else have it. That’s my two cents about it. 😉

@@maryanonomous5847 every state is different but it is not illegal to dumpster diver. Stores just got upset when people were going in the dumpster removing items and then returning them for refund. That would be stealing because they are getting money for something they did not pay for. In fact Congress actually passed a law many years ago that once a person discards anything in the trash with the intention to let it go then it is not stealing. It is considered abandoned property and you can take it. The rub comes from the fact that with stores the bins are considered still their property until the truck comes to get it. So who is right is it abandoned because it is in the trash or is it store property still because it is on their store grounds. That is why if stores decide to put no trespassing or locks on their bins it is legal for them to do so. The best anyone can do is what Steven and Steph are doing is avoid the employees and open store doors to evade any controversy.

8:40, the wooden bowl, you can put a salt lamp or any crystal lamp in it. Use the the hole part to put cord on. And fill the bowl with tumbled crystal and stones.

You could use the bowl to hang on the wall with a bunch of air plants coming over the missing edge. Succulents would also work great. Go on Pinterest. You could paint the back of it and hang it high enough you won’t see the broken edge as well. Doggie diaper dork great. We had a female that needed to wear them before she got fixed.

I have a bowl very similar to that broken wooden one, and it's easy to sand down or mend it with wood filler, and use it for fruit or nuts etc. Also oiled on the raw edges. Very pretty and useful.

For that wooden bowl, maybe cover the upper half with cloth and sew rubber around the edges. That way you could change up the cloth for different holidays and put seasonal items in it. Stuffed bunny and plastic/styrofoam eggs for Easter, red/green/gold balls for Christmas, etc...

For the wood bowl, fix the broken area with wood putty, sand it, stain it or paint it. You could put a melted candle in it or one of those artificial plants in it. It would be beautiful.

The wood bowl could be wrapped in thick natical looking rope found at Dollar Tree.may take a few times to find in stock because it's very popular for the price.irs in the craft Dept I'd say probably need five depends on the length you find But you use a glue gun and wrap around carefully and gluing only a few places and ends.

The wooden bowl use tape either side of the break as a splint and then use cement to fill the gap. Once set you could sand it smooth and varnish 😊

Take some sandpaper to the edges of the break in the bowl and make it smooth, as a fruit bowl it could look nice and be perfectly usable.

Looks lovely day for DD. Omg its freezing here on the mid north coast of Australia! I like the idea of a fairly garden that dish you found. Your gandkiddes would love it when them come visit. Can write little notes etc. Cheap shops here sell bits for fairy gardens and im sure you find stuff in the trash or make things too
