Well first you take a look at the enemy team, if their team is squishy, has no tanks or their tanks aren't that much of a threat (usually tank supports) then you go luden's. If their comp has a 1v9 tank like Nasus or tahm then you should go Liandry. When you start the game you should think about your itemization already, think about how the game might play out and whether your role in the team is to chunk down tanks (like if your ADC may not deal enough DMG to kill them) or burst squishies and let the team do their work. You can also consider RoA, really good item imo (I usually buy it against the likes of Asol or Veigar). Play more and soon you'll get the hang of it. Good luck fellow Viktor player
