Big man, I’m a Celtic fan who enjoys listening to your podcasts. You are always fair and express yourself very well. It isn’t over yet; the momentum has already swung to and fro several times. Three points is a slim lead. It can change quickly. I’m feeling much better than I was a week ago, but nothing is decided.

hardly hee-haw, Adam. No-one's trying to say we aren't on a terrible run of form or that Celtic aren't in prime position now. But if us being terrible means Celtic are only three points and five goals better off than us then that - proof they are only marginally rather than "far" better" - tells us we don't have much to do to catch them, this season or next.

Thoughtful. Alex. Good point about Docherty being Derek's assistant. Got his PhD in spoiling at Aberdeen and used it last night. One thing seldom mentioned is that other teams study our players and offset or man-mark them, as last night. A 50-50 result, but when we least needed it. There is always another day.

Very good pod Eck. The team including the management had two days to process the disaster of Sunday. To me last night’s repeat of that poor performance is worrying as it shows a lack of character and the ability to lift themselves. Very worrying indeed.

Five games to go. 2005. Celtic won at ibrox to go five up with four to play. Out of rangers' hands. Title went to ibrox despite celtic having a better and mentally stronger side than now. 1998. Rangers beat celtic at ibrox to go top on goal difference with four games to go. Rangers won two, lost two. Celtic won two, drew two to win it. It really is still all to play for despite the recent rangers collapse, and history shows this.

I just understand what’s happened to them , have the players hit a brick wall , this was probably the best year we could have had to take a title Celtic basically handed us points and we haven’t taken advantage . Anyway onwards and upwards onto a semi final , take as many points in the last 5 games as we can

My frustration exactly, William. The drop off perhaps isn't totally sudden but the rate of reversal is stunning. The brick wall metaphor is spot-on.

I don't include you in this because you are graceful in defeat but there is only so much the players can take of a petulant support that abuses them any time they don't win before it starts to affect them psychologically.

100%. Fans are obvs right to be upset - I'm absolutely devastated - but the near relish some are displaying in saying the most toxic things they can think of to players in their own team is utterly sickening. It has to get to these players.

Agree with you Eck. You never concede until its beyond reach. Unlikely yes but stranger things happen in football. Unfortunately these group of players need nurtured especially during these times. If they arent it really becomes a sinking ship. Scottish cup to grab and to focus on winning these games with the target of goals. Is it done? Seems so but as fans we should never accept its over till its OVER.

Obviously the travelling back and forth to Dingwall and Dundee was sapping, dispiriting, and disruptive for planning and training. Still, even so, we should have seen off these two teams.

Aye, you would assume so, Jim. I only mentioned it because, not only was it an absolute farce, but I feel our reaction points to how fragile we must be - the drop off in performance is so pronounced that I'm just flapping about trying out any explanation that might fit. Usually turns out there are multiple reasons.

This is what happens when you leave for a while big Eck … The team crumbles in your disappearance … All kidding aside, where do you start …Sadly now believe the core of the team actually are bottle merchants and have a losing mentality when there is any pressure inflicted .. There was no real hunger , heads were slumped .. Where was the reaction ?? .. A reaction from Rangers is a Win , and convincingly at that …. There was none of that .. As for Clement’s interview after the game 😮 that’s for a different day .. Still gd to have you back big man , just crap you came back to this mess .. 😬

Thanks, Sonnie - and apologies - thought I would have taken my jinx factor out of the country with me but, no, I just brought it back with a vengeance. What the hell are they doing at customs??!! Stop the small boats? Stop the fat blokes, more like! I feel it's the injuries, mate - losing Diamonde, after Yilmaz, were just two too many and the old guard - only three strong - is knackered after holding it together for two managers and a never-ending rota of team mates this season. Sunday will tell us if there's any way out of this slump before the summer.

Afraid not. At some point in the late 80s/early 90s I was watching the Late Show/Late Review on a Thursday night and wondered why this guy was singing a song about him being an old woman. Shortly after i heard a woman singing it in the background of the film Rush then my sister played me a Bonnie Raitt CD and, well, it's a song that lives with you, isn't it.

You are so Alex. But some players must take some blame. Also I don't understand how the manager plays players that weren't even on the bench the game before and chops and changes to many players at once he should get his best 11 on at start for at least 3 or 4 game and let team settle not giving players a chance to have a run of games. Get it sorted and let us play football.

The "it's in our hands" narrative never works for me. Check the table - Hearts COULD still finish 2nd. But would anyone take it seriously that it's "in their hands" now? We fucked it over the last 2 weeks. And with the money they get this summer and the lack of assets to sell....no idea how this ends well next year even. This is where Clement has to show his stuff. If they did win the league next season? That'd be them on 55 too....

Just watched this, too painful a performance at Dens to watch any sooner, mojo deflated and I'm not talking about a wee inflatable ginger footballer. One common denominator that seems to have impinged on the form of Rangers and indeed The Welders is your decision to stow the Welders Bunnet in that big drawer you have for accumulated good look charms, scarves, mitts, artistic female magazines and Match worn bunnets 😂 Off to see the Carrick Rangers FC today who are in the heady heights of securing the 6th place spot in the Irish League. It's all about The Rangers. Tides turn, keep the faith.

No doubt, Finlay. It has been scientifically proven that when I do not wear the welders hat - because my big fat heid gets hotter than a welder's stick once we get past the month of february - Rangers play pish. We've only won two games since February. Hope both your Rangers win this weekend, mate and I hope the Welders release a range of summer-wear soon... for everyone's sake!

Such a defeatest attitude everybody has chucked it , throw in the towel and greating like weans .. 3 points with 5 games to go . Is there any league in the world that supporters would chuck it in such a position?.. Celtic have not won 5 games in a row this season and have been poor this season .. is it probable no !! Is it possible of course ..

Correct, mate. We're playing poorly and Celtic are favourites, no doubt. But the absolute thirst from so many Rangers fans to write this season off is, I think, a reaction to so many disappointments in recent years - we're protecting our emotions. But on the field it's still eminently doable.
