Just got back from the 1st showing in Newark CA's IMax theater. It was excellent in every way. A big step up from the 1st one and I loved the 1st one.

Yes I love how the Harkonnen Harvesters look like ticks sucking out the life force from the planet, while the Atreides Harvestors look more normal looking.

JUST SAW IT. I'M STILL TRYING TO FIND WORDS. I TRIED TALKING ABOUT IT COMING OUT OF THE THEATER, IT WAS MOSTLY HYPER EXCITED YAMMERING. I'M STILL KINDA IN A MILD SHOCK FROM IT. I KNEW THE STORY, I READ IT WHEN I WAS 22, AND I READ DUNE MESSIAH, AND I READ CHILDREN OF DUNE. NOT FROM THE STORY IMPACT ( WHICH IS THE BEST SCIENCE FICTION STORY I HAVE EVER READ), JUST IN HOW EXTREMELY WELL THE MOVIE WAS DONE..... DIRECTING, ACTING, EFFECTS, SCREENPLAY, CINEMATOGRAPHY. IT WAS A FULL BATTERY OF PERFECTION, AND IT PACKED A MAMMOTH PUNCH. HANS ZIMMERS SCORE WAS MESMERIZING. I HAVE TO SEE IT AGAIN. GONNA BE A LOT OF AWARDS FOR THIS ONE.

I saw it on IMAX. I was utterly blown away by the visuals, music score and story. 11/10 - yep, it's gone straight to the top of my best movie ever list. Oh yeah, it's a 3hr movie, do yourself a favour and visit the loo before going in.😉

So excited! Makes me want to read the whole series again for... not sure how many times I have read it. At least ten. Read for the first time in grade school, and still a fascinating series. I hope they stay profitable and make movies all the way through the God Emperor.

it's very top heavy, the legs are there to stabilize it, not move it

They do with tactics basically, If you already watch movie the ornithopter protect those harvester they need clean the patrol first, if they do charge the attack Harkonnen will notice of them and call reinforcement air support and the plans will fail

What did you expect the Sardaukar to do? THey were ambused by atomic warheads, and sandworms, and wer outnumbered, on top of taken by surprise. Only so much you can do in such circumstances

@@renblais1274 stand your ground, let the worms eat you alive if it comes to this, but don't falter. they are supposed to have undying loyalty to the Emperor, their training involves thousands dying by the age of 11 and the ceremony before they are sent into battle reminds them of death and failure of their brothers, how can they still be afraid of dying ,that completely burst the bubble that part 1 created around them

Just a terrible film. A total waste of money and time. I saw it here in LA on opening day, but went to afternoon matinee to save money and have plenty of room as the place was only half full thank goodness. It's the same drivel as the first one
