Tony, I hope you get this message... I had mentioned to the fine folks at the Ruth Bankroft Garden how much I enjoyed your channel and I wondered if you had any connection to them... They responded to me and asked if I could pass on to you that they would love for you to come visit their garden! You must be aware of the RBG, Ruth was a legend in Bay Area horticulturists!!! My partner Jim (RIP) and I were charter members of the Hortisexuals! Members of our group were instrumental in gaining acceptance into the Garden Conservancy for RBG... Brian Kemble lead researcher (who you might know) would very much like you to come to visit their garden!!! They are easy to find, in Walnut Creek California... Anyway I turned them on to your channel but I suspect they already knew about you because they were very eager to get you to visit them!!! My work is done here, now it's up to you to decide if you want to follow through........ Thanks!

I often think you need one of Mike Stinnet's "sticks" for your walk-abouts. One that has a little hole designed into it so that you could somehow attach whatever you're filming with and poke it into the ground like a tripod. Then you could be in some of the shots too and you've got something to lean on when scaling rough terrain (okay, in 20 years you'll know what I mean). Besides which, he's got much the same eye for tiny details and shares your appreciation of little things in nature I think. And they're very special sticks and you're very special!

Most medicinal plants, valuable though they may be, often have their effectiveness *WAY* overblown. Aconite, for instance, was pretty much the only effective local anesthetic before modern medicine. (it is SUPER dangerous by modern standards btw) But, it was claimed to cure just about anything, including stomach aches. The most obvious symptom of aconite poisoning is severe gastrointestinal issues. It also causes irregular heartbeats. I am of the opinion that herbal medicine is underutilized, but that we shouldn't throw modern medicine (especially science and the method thereof) out with the bathwater, so to speak. Don't get me started on Saint John's wart. (in short, if you don't like antidepressants, just go to a therapist. *therapists don't make you allergic to sunlight*) Also, by herbal medicine, I mean medicine with herbs, NOT what most people call "herbal medicine"

Have had a great time finding tomato horn worms heavily parasitized, bad for the worm but good for those of us growing tomatoes. Rather the wasps take care of those plant munching bastards than apply chemicals anyway. Late summer is def weird bug season, they're all sick of the heat too.
