Hell yeah, more DDO! The Dragonborn race is so goofy to me The fact that their eyes aren't forward facing makes them look so friendly and unthreatening

Fun fact, having eyes on the side of your head is beneficial for species that tend to be prey, so they have a better field of view. Having both eyes forward is better for predators, since it helps you judge distances towards one specific target better. It's also useful if you move around in the canopy. So... your association is in fact rooted in some very real biology!

The game is really geared toward the older D&D crowd who love to try new character builds. I really enjoy the undead wizard eldritch knight style. You can heal yourself with an aura of death while running around beating things with a sword.

Its good but sucked for raids cause no one could heal you enough ;) Think I had harm potions or something. Fun build

@@Nzchimeran not sure when you played one but changes to the game with epic destinies and new gear makes that not really a problem.

yeah i just watched a pale master with death aura run, was unkillable. I had a character with about 10 reincarnations, maybe I should come back for a twirl@@Uhlbelk

"I don't think we needed to, but it was still fun to do it." Yeah, that's the essence of this game. If you like that explorer, wait until higher levels when you end up in the really big ones, like King's Forest, and Barovia. They end up quite large at higher levels. As a wizard, you'll feel kinda gimpy early on, but once you hit level 5 or so you really come on line.

yeah the lars "We beat them off..this time" has become a bit of a meme in the community over the years. There's a person who posts pretty frequently on the forums who uses it as his forum signature

There are a lot of cool stuff, You are primarily going to see older dungeons which are designed differently from the more modern ones which tend to have a bit less of that stuff in favor of a more active experience but they're still good experiences. The new cat one is funny. (You can do that at level 4)@@Shelcreature

Haven't played this for years. Such a fantastic game, just wish they would sort out UW monitor scaling and better graphics options and sort out the UI and menus. Back in the day, Ever Quest added better character models and players could choose to use them if their systems could handle it.

I actually like the old school low poly models and low res textures. It makes the details that are there pop out more. But I agree with you completely the UI needs an overhaul

tbh I always open dungeon on public modes and through my hours long sessions I always get some people and on good days I run at max group size for whole sagas

@@Kmilo361 I was being sarcastic, but the point was that everyone is now making self sufficient toons, so the old groups requiring a healer and trapper no longer applies. Just like the toons in this video.

@@Kmilo361 I was lucky enough to start playing before guilds came out and people would jump up and down at the start of Tempest Spine for fire resist. I was horrible as a f2p first life dwarf barbarian, but lots of nice people who were happy I joined. Later when zergers came into fashion I would get kicked for being too slow and not knowing giant hold well enough.

We had a full 12 man raid group several times lately on Thelanis. While grinding for jack Jibbers blade we even had to turn people down and switch them out if they got it, because we were full :P

Look in to going back to the game after leaving when it went f2p but they think way too highly of their content in regards to cost. Must be the WotC licensing, but all that content costs $$$ and I'm not an f2p grinder. Even WoW and FF14 tie all their old content in to the base game cost. And SWTOR gives you all their old content with a sub and you may only have to buy the latest expac. Money or time is a real barrier to entry to this game. I hear DDO changed a lot and moved away from puzzles and trap monkies, etc? I could be wrong about that.

Our group is all f2p. Early game has had no barriers at all. I'm sure it gets grindy later on and we'll drop it then, but if you just play the f2p content it's been really fun :)

@@Shelcreature Free DDO quest coupon released again, gives permanent free access to almost every adventure pack in the game. They also reduced the price of the first 4 expansions to 99 store points each. 400 store points total for them takes almost no time to earn in-game still all for free.
