Kamov Ka-226 is one of the rare helicopters in the world with a flexible modular design, suitable for different missions. The Kamov Ka-226, known in the West as Hoodlum, is a small utility helicopter with coaxial propellers, developed from the successful Ka-26. The helicopter entered service in 2002, being developed for both military and civilian customers.

This underpowered helicopter has been based on the US S-64 Skycrane only a lot smaller and lighter. The newer Ka 226T has finally been upgraded to have enough power to be within modern safety margins. If it wasn't a counter rotation design they would probably have a much higher accident rate. I like the modularity it just needs a major overhaul of the avionics like most Russian equipment.

Helicopters like this do almost everything the Osprey can do. But the military industrial complex doesn’t want cost effective gear. They want the most expensive crap they can find, just to spend more money. Save Ukraine!
