Dunkery Beacon..This place is in my heart!! A few years ago I arrived there, to that wide beautiful landscape, with my husband and daughter, on a magic silent summer sunset... we didn't meet anybody while walking on top of the hill, and we were alone there; I'll never forget that perfect moment of harmony and happiness, and all that trip... thank you for posting!

Yes I do have an affection for the area. My grandarents retired to Miinehead in 1961, when I was 12, and I have loved it ever since. Grandfather used to put on slide-shows for tourists, in the Minehead Methodist Church Hall, "The Exmoor Romance of Lorna Doone".

I can see you have an affection for this part of the country!
