Like in the case of Anne Frank. The scenario in the case of the OC, its ethical. Its a fact, pro-control advocates want to punish people by forcing unwanted children into their life.

regarding trump's constant touting of black employment statistics, it's a great example of a true lie - technically, trump put good sounding numbers in absolute terms, but they were just, you know, modern numbers. it's true that under trump more black people were employed than ever before. because, you know, more people were employed! The implication trump is making, that he closed the employment GAP between blacks and whites, which would be the relevant thing to look at, is NOT true. the RELATIVE gap between whites and blacks was worse under trump than biden. Which again, not super policy relevant per se, but it's worth discussing the numbers.

Also, trump's NET jobs growth was NEGATIVE 2.7 million, not positive 7 million. 7 million might be the number clawed back from the trough of the pandemic but he didn't end in the black vs when he started.

They genuinely think that female bodied people are supposed to yearn and thirst for the all-consuming responsibility of being a breeding machine, and that any woman who wants something else can be corrected through threats of subjugation.

That’s just it. These guys think it’s a morally superior to say “take responsibility and take care of your kid” when in reality, that doesn’t encapsulate all of the consequences that having a child also brings along. Pregnancy wrecks your body and most men don’t have the conversations or do the research to understand everything that carrying a child does. If you don’t have the money to buy vitamins, your teeth will fall out and your bones will weaken. You’re at an increased risk of diabetes. Babies can break ribs if their in the correct position when they kick. And this is with every pregnancy, not just high risk ones. There’s also a financial aspect. It costs $30k on average in the US to deliver a baby at the hospital. I can guarantee none of these people discussing this know that. Also, imagine if you can’t afford to take time off work. There’s no required parental leave in this country! They have to give you FMLA leave, which is ONLY 6 weeks but it can go unpaid. These are all factors that mothers consider when having to choose what they’re going to do with their fetus. They think women see abortions the same as getting a mole removed for an autopsy. That’s never the case. The alternative that they are advocating for is that the child is either neglected, put into a system that will traumatize them or the mother will seek alternative methods which could include sui**** or back alley abortion. I chose your comment to reply to because I completely agree that debating has become such a circus on social media. There is no nuance and no one ever concedes or changes their mind, no matter what evidence is provided. It’s just about winning and isn’t productive at all and it drives me insane.
