In this video, we'll take a closer look at the Dunlop D212 GP Racer and see why it could be the perfect tyre for track day use. With its high grip, stability and good wear rate characteristics, the Dunlop D212 GP Racer is right up there with the best track day tyres available!
Since April 2022, I’ve been running the Dunlop D212 GP racer tyres and getting a very good understanding about what they are about. I’ve done mostly track days on them, but a good few road miles too, I’ve used the same front, and I’ve gone through 2 rears. This is our review!

I work at Dunlop. We all ride motorcycles. We dont fuck around with the tires. We have quality control. But everyone here os quality control. Because we think about the rider. We all say. Thank you brother so much for posting this video that is wonderful and I am going to try a set of those. I will have to order them and have them sent to Phoenix Arizona and United States. I’m currently going to try the new Q5 trackday tire and see how they feel on my CBR 1000 RR SP2

@@KnoxArmour yes an ohlins su 1509 in the rear,, because of work at the moment I can't get out to set it up,,but few weeks be out ,, been out on my 1200 bandit,, suspension upgrade on it to 👍👍☘️☘️☘️

Thanks! Have to get them from dunlop themselves. Theyre a special type of sticker that just bonds to the rubber instantly. Hope that helps Aaron Knox

Hi, I race at club level normally use supercorsa SC's, I've a trip to portimao coming up in a few weeks, have decided I'm going to give the d212's a go as they seem to be the raciest of the TD tyres. I'm struggling with the compound choice, have you guys tried the S front or M rear? I've read that Dunlop consider the M rear to be a sprint compound, if so where does it stack up against their actual race tyres? I cant find any information anywhere about the S front? Be great if you guys could point me in the right direction on this

Hi John, here is the reply from Dunlop: "For track day use we’d recommend starting with the medium front, endurance rear. Plenty of grip and good life. Ultimate lap times may come from softer tyres but at the expense of wear. It’s more critical on the rear with the bigger bikes, the medium rear will wear noticeably faster so we always suggest starting with the medium front & endurance rear and if the rider feels they really do need more grip then go softer. Keep the pressures towards the higher end of the recommended range." Hope that helps, Aaron KNOX

why do they say, if you go 2 laps, you are at the same temp as if you had used warmers? is this true? if somebody cant use warmers, will it not reach the temperature optimum just by shredding?

Well yes, but those 2 laps you have to be a bit steady because the tyres are not at operating temperature yet... most guys in fast group are on tyre warmers and the pace is quick from standing start, so it can be a little off putting to ride around more steady for 2 laps... Aaron KNOX
