Salman Akram Raja Solid Arguments In Supreme Court | Reserved Seats Case | Dunya News

The Supreme Court (SC) has resumed hearing of the petition brought by the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) against the denial of reserved seats for women and minorities in the national and provincial assemblies.
A full-court bench, headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, is conducting the proceedings.
Other judges on the bench include Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Aminuddin Khan, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Ayesha A Malik, Justice Athar Minallah, Justice Syed Hassan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Shahid Waheed, Justice Irfan Saadat Khan and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan.
The proceedings are being live streamed.
Earlier in May, the apex court had suspended the Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) decision to allocate SIC's reserved seats to other parties.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah had, during the proceedings, remarked that the mandate given by the people should be properly represented in parliament.
The court had sent the matter of reserved seats to the Judges Committee to decide whether the case would be heard by the same bench or a larger bench would be constituted.
On March 4, the Election Commission of Pakistan had accepted applications of the opposing parties and decided that the seats in the National Assembly and provincial assemblies would not remain vacant and would be allocated by a proportional representation process on the basis of seats won by political parties.
The development resulted in PTI-backed SIC losing a total of 77 reserved seats - 23 National Assembly seats (20 women and 3 minorities), 25 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly seats (21 women and 4 minorities), two Sindh Assembly seats (women) and 27 Punjab Assembly seats (24 women and 3 minority).
The Peshawar High Court had also rejected the petitions filed by the Sunni Ittehad Council for the reserved seats of women and minorities.The party had challenged the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) verdict of not allocating the reserved women and minority seats to the SIC. #atharminallah #supremecourt #pti #imrankhan

Salman Raja has convincing evidence and is showing precedence for his arguments. Judges have a lot of discretionary powers and can sway their decision in the direction they want ,( if they are biased ).

Last few seconds of this video proves my point. Qazi still believes he is a lawyer (ju jarah kar raha hai witness per. ) khud khud ko wakil samajhta hai aur wakil ko witness. (Arugument nahin sunta bus haan ya na may jawab mangta hai.) Jaisat kisi ne agar wapda power line kaat de ho kisi bachay ki jaan bachanay ke liey aur yeh us se poochay ke " tum ne laine kaati ya nahin answer me yes or no."

Being a novice of law I think that the decision of SC in which it took away the symbol of a party was not legal as it deprived the federal public from voting for a particular party. SC Court needs to readdress that ruling to put things in proper perspective .

That decision was made on the grounds that one application was already in front of the court and they went to other high court and got the decision without withdrawing the first application. Technical grounds were there.

Lawyer is pleading his case honestly. But Qazi sees impulsive & insure , because definitely his personal interest is involved, it's clearly visible, the way Qazi is behaving in this court. When the lawyer is coming on his point of view , to define , Qazi is stopping him , & divert the topic . This is absurd, thewhole world is watching. Qazi has to understand, that there is people in the world, who are more intelligent than him . Don't make this court a fish market.

The Pakistan Supreme Court gives you an impression of a Kangroo court. The justices are speaking over each other along with the petitioner. It’s laughable and at the same time embarrassing. They just need to watch how the court systems work in developed countries, when a Justice speaks, you cannot interrupt him and have to wait until he finishes. The common sense is that in any conversation, you need to wait the other person finish what he has to say before you start speaking.

Qazi Faiz Essa would have gained much more respect , had he excused himself from all cases relating to ex PM Imran Khan. His wife had made unbecoming remarks about ex PM Imran Khan in the recent past. Qazi sahab was asked to do so , but he refused .

Qazi is asking a valid question why not after winning join PTI as he only took the symbol but party still exist? Party’s registration was not cancelled. No matter how much I hate him I sometimes wonder that why PTI lawyers never answered the questions he asks? And worse part is most of them representing PTI are lawyers so how they are not prepared to answer legally
