The general guideline is that, if the college/university accepts the duolingo test, then the requirements could be in the lines of: Certificate, diploma and advanced diploma Between 105 and 110 Degree Between 115 and 120 Graduate certificate Between 125 and 130 Please remember that SDS programs require IELTS and it is not clear whether Duolingo test is accepted. Hello! The test will sometimes give you long sentences to listen and type, in questions like those, you might have to type quickly. A typing speed of 30 to 40 words a minute should be enough.

115 is best

Each college has different requirements. It is always good to look at the college website, but if you are looking at a general figure, then a score of 115 to 125 should see you safely through most situations.

Hello! sorry for the delayed reply. A lot of colleges in Canada accept a 3 year degree. If you are looking at getting into universities that absolutely require a 4 year bachelors, you could always take up a one year diploma course (in Canada or in your home country) and then apply for admission into the university of your choice.

Hello Sara, Any English test is valid for just two years. So, you might have to take an english test after your masters in Canada. At that point you could take the IELTS or CELPIP. DET, at this point, can be used only for admission process.

For Canadian universities, you'll be needing a minimum of 115 out of 160. Don't take the test now. Practice till your predicted range starts with 115.

There is no easy way to answer that. If your score in the practice test is say around a 100 or around that, your final score could be 10 points lower than the predicted score. If your score is in the range of 120, you could expect around the same score with little variation. In short, if you have a wide range(120 to 150), expect the lower end, if you have a small range(130 to 145) you could expect either. It is not exact, but that is the most we can tell you now.

Hello Yugvesh, as long as your university accepts the duolingo test score, and all your documents are in order, you should not have any problems with getting your visa. Remember that getting a visa does not depend on the test that you take!

Sadly, there is no clarity on the Visa aspect. You could use the Duolingo english test for the admission process and later give IELTS for the visa process. I see no point in two tests but if the admission deadlines are fast approaching, taking two tests would perhaps be our only solution.

Yet, we cannot be very certain. For most of our students, the word completion section seems to be the hardest. @@asmaaalasad9620 The response as is is pretty good. There are some minor grammatical inconsistencies (parallel structure) and repetitions. This should not stop you from getting a score of 100 or above. You probably should practice more for the reading section where you have to fill in gaps.

As of now, we aren't sure that DET is accepted for PR purposes. The website only gives details of institutions.

For the UK, some universities are accepting it. For work visas, you still need the IELTS test.

Let us hope it does not happen! If it does happen, duolingo will give you an option to resit for the test. The test is cached locally, so, even if the internet connection is interrupted, you should be able to complete the test and upload it once you connect back.

The real test is definitely more challenging than the practice one. There are no more questions types than there are in the practice test, but the questions types are more challenging.
