@@woodwardscreditcard7482 Bullshit! There aren't usually many white guys to hug after 100m but there are useful pole vaulters of a darker skin tone. As if that should be of any importance.

@@glenngastonjonsson7954 Ofc its important if we are talking about barriers. The only real barrier that exists and will persist to exist if we don't willingly fight it is that of skin color. Barriers between countries are all superficial and kids won't see them. Meanwhile dark colored skin kids gets called all sort of names in kindergarden. That's why its of outmost importance to mix kids early.
@Aikisbest
@Aikisbest 9 ай бұрын
Which is also kind of bullshit and also a cultural thing rather than something intrensic, to me, small kids calling peoples of other colours names is completely foreign and certainly racism on the whole is not the only problem that needs solving in the world? @@woodwardscreditcard7482 EDIT: Oh, I see now that you are the one who actually made the original (quite irrelevant) claim, oh well. The only possible case of racism I see here is your "Bullshit! They are all white" comment, whatever you are trying to imply with it. If you excuse my bluntness, I'm going to take a guess you wouldn't have said a single word had they all been "black" instead. Now, what I was originally going to comment to the OP: I would rather say it is why we can say that this sport in particular breaks down barriers, and the sportsmanship they show eachother deserves only praise in any case!

@@woodwardscreditcard7482 This guy has been trained from the age of 5 to become the best in the world. At the time, it was the best pole vault competition ever. Bullshitting that is very disrespectful. Since I don't know what country you're from, I can't argue about the circumstances people of different colours can pursue the sport they like. In Sweden, the second best pole vaulter ever is Alhaji Jeng, of african origin.

@@onkenator 6: 18 (or since two days ago 6:19) is the indoor world record. Outdoors is 6:15 also by Duplantis. The conditions outdoors highly influence any competition. So you really have to get perfect wind and temperature conditions to go for a new record. And I think it's also depending on how many jumps you already did up to that moment. When you skipped a few heights and got everything on the first try you have more energy left to try again for more height

That's bordering on impossible with the current poles. He is already inching his way to the max potential of how high that thing can throw you and he is improving the record one cm at a time. Adding 20 more is extremely highly unlikely.

Know he lives ca.a half a year in the US and six months in Sweden.When he started to compete for Sweden,there might have been another reason,there are very many good athletes/pole vaulters in the USA .The competition is high.Sweden have not had very .many good ones in pole vault and took the opportunity to give hime and his parents those things that are better in Swedish indoor sport and aid to athletes.Now Duplantis has become a very good Athlete in Pole Vault.Look at Berlin 2018.How many men have jumped 6.05 today 4,5 years later counting both indoor and outdoor?I make it six out of 26 men who have jumped 6 meters in all.Three including Duplantis have passed 6.10,2 pass 6.15 one Duplantis pas 6.16 6.20.

@@annenissen3055 He has betrayed his country! His ONLY connection to Sweden was his mother. Other than that he had absolutely NOTHING whatsoever to do with that country. He was raised in the U.S. and became who he is today in the U.S. Then all of a sudden he switches his allegiance to another country that he has absolutely NO connection with! In my eyes, he's a coward and a betrayal of the U.S. in my eyes. He's no different than a draft dodger. That's my opinion and I will always feel that way! How discussing is it to see him wearing a Swedish uniform and seeing all those Swedish flags and fans cheering him on as a hero? Unbelievable! Keep in mind, I have no bad feelings towards Sweden. I love Sweden. It's a great country. It is too bad someone in Sweden didn't step up and say something like this is wrong. You need to go back to where you live and grew up. You have nothing to do with my country. But, that didn't happen. Deplantis will always be a coward to me!
