Incredibly tight; Roger's a total machine and combined with John's dynamic bass the effect was electric. The importance of rock-solid drum 'n bass is often overlooked - DD would have been a very different band without these two in their number.

That kick hits HARD! Dayum. The hi hats are too perfect. No drum machine sounded that good in 1981 when this was recorded. So can't figure it out unless they recorded it at slower speed. The Taylor twins were a good combo. That bass guitar and kick drum had real power. I love how "real" musicians took decades to figure this out. I was championing DD when everybody was writing them off as a pop novelty. Listen to me next time bitches 😠
