Very difficult to believe Susanna Hoffs is 61. Not that that’s old, but she looks fantastic. Not just for her age but she doesn’t look really much different than when she was in The Bangles. My God, two legends. Two great voices from the 80s who I grew up listening to. Please, tiktok generation, watch this and try to learn something about music talents. They are from a time when you needed to know how to sing and play musical instruments to be called a singer. I still have a few magazines and John Taylor is on the cover of one of them and Susanna Hoffs appears on a few pages with the Bangles. That's how we used to get the lyrics of our favorite songs back in the day, kids. That's how we used to get posters of our favorite singers. Although I love the fact that today we can rely on KZfaq to watch all those videos, I gotta say God I miss those days so much. I loved the video, guys. Susanna is as pretty and natural as she was in the 80s.

This is the second time I watched this conversation between Susanna and John (the first when it was shown in May 2020), and it has been even more interesting the second time around (more details). Susanna, 61, I can totally relate because I'm 2 days younger than you (I was born in Berkeley on January 19, 1959) and now, I realize why you age so well. It's your attitude. In this conversation you exhude a teenage enthusiasm, your laugh is so young and exuberant, and you even look like a young girl in this video. And maybe you can relate, even though we have aged and matured, with experience, responsabilities, and families, on the inside we still feel like we did when we were twenty some year olds. Please maintain that attitude. Your interviews and conversations are always engaging and interesting. And I loved John, not only in, Duran Duran, but also Power Station. This is a great talk. I never realized John Taylor is a cool guy. Duran Duran was an exciting new wave pop band , they were a huge part in the feeling of the 80's especially the early 80's. I was a young teenager back then. The 80's were awesome. There was always a new great song every week and very diverse from pop to heavy metal and everything in between. I was a young teenager in the early 80's and grew up through the decade. Everything moved so fast and up and all the 80's fashion, then next thing you know by the end of it I was in my twenties. What an amazing time. I relate to them talking about being moved by listening to bass lines in songs. I too would always notice the bass when listening to a song, i especially noticed it with the Beatles. The bass really hit me when i first heard Paul McCartney playing bass with Wings when i would hear songs like Band on the Run , Uncle Admiral Halsey or Silly Love Songs on the car radio a young kid.

So fun to see these great performers interact and share . Easy to identify as they are my age and I saw them both live so many times as a teenager .

Great to see both of these guys still looking great together. Also, really love Duran Duran's new album, Future Past. Great combination of sounds and lyrics, that only his band can produce!

Great interview! I was pre-Med at UC Davis at the same time SH was at Cal. Campus radio KDVS is credited as roots for the soon-to-be "Paisley Underground" movement. Coincidentally, the radio station and Zapple Records were both literally underground. Great live music times!!! Tours from Ramones, E. Costello, Police, Joe Jackson, Devo, B-52's, English Beat, Specials, T-Heads and more came to the intimate Coffee House venue on campus. Road trips to Fondue Fred's in Berkeley too...

What wonderful souls, power of the loving spirit genuinely expressed. I would tell Sue, I am humbled by the experience, of life, you share, through music, especially the humble heart felt tears of the Eternal Flame song; And of such spirit relate to what you describe, 25:46.... "that surreal moment in spirit and truth when the people of music shine together of practice... I remember practicing when everything aligned in a wonderful surreal moment, and to have recordings of that wonderful spirit of truth makes the world a more wonderful place.

Hey Susanna. I had a crush on you in the 80's. I wrote you a letter in 1987 but never heard back from you, Maybe you received it or maybe you didn't. I loved your Bangles material. I still listen to those songs today and consider myself to still be a fan. My all time favorite performance that you did with the Bangles was on Dick Clark's Rock 'n Eve in 1987, remember that? I used to watch that video over and over and think ahh Susanna lol. Ok, I'll stop wooing now.

Decades later, I still love both The Bangles and Duran Duran. Regarding Prince and The Bangles, I read a few years ago about "Manic Monday." Originally, the late "Purple One" wrote "Manic Monday" for the late Vanity of Vanity 6 but the 2 split and he replaced her with Apollonia Kotero. Prince recorded the demo of Apollonia 6 singing "Manic Monday." I heard that demo after "The Purple One" died in a 2016 article. OMG! It was horrible! It sounded like cats being strangled, while singing! Prince shelved "Manic Monday" for 2 years and with great reason. Sounds horrible saying this but... Apollonia has no talent; She can't sing OR act her way out of a paper bag! Apollonia is just "another pretty face," who was Vanity's replacement. According to a few articles, there have been claims that Prince would only give "Manic Monday" to The Bangles IF Susanna slept with him. The sad thing is, I can actually believe that Prince would've said this because that man was a total dog, who supposedly got "saved." I really hope Susanna didn't sleep with Prince just to get "Manic Monday" from him because I believe that she could've done much better than that sleazy munchkin man.
