This is an apple (Duromax 12000) vs orange (heavier Westingouse 20000) comparison. Appropriate comparison shoulde be Duromax 12000 trifuel versus Westinghouse 12000 dual fuel. Thanks for your effort.

I keep my 9500-watt Westinghouse my daul fuel generator!! It's a horse!! It's running my whole home with 4 ton ac without missing a stride!!!

Can you run a fridge and a 4 ton A/C unit with that? I imagine you’re using a soft start kit on your A/C?

@j.p.4541 No sir, no soft start.. The only thing I switched off was the water heater breaker... And it handled the 4 ton unit, refrigerator, lights, ceiling fans, TV....👍

How do you get 20 000 watts from a 50 amp plug when connected to your house...YOU CAN'T...50 amp times 240 volts is = to 12,000 watts...STOP giving viewers the wrong information

You COMBINE the plugs to get total watts/amps EVERY brand of generator has to do that. The 30 and 50 amp plugs are standardized off the shelf compognents common in RV industry and Portable generator industry. Want 100 amps use, 50 +30 + 20 amp plugs.

Like Ernest said in his comment, this is an apples to oranges comparison. It is like comparing a Mustang GT to a Honda Accord. Both have advantages. And the features you choose to evaluate can also skew the results.. (Example: If you included fuel consumption per hour, the Duromax would get that point easily. Same with Cost.) This was a worthless comparison. How about using competitive models? Like a 12KW or 15KW model from both brands? Sheesh.

I just don’t like metal fuel tanks and rust Best to stick to propane for house back up and never gas Just keep extra bottles and one gas container

Agree apples to Oranges comparison plus you didn't compare the extended run time on LPG for the DuroMax plus you compare a 12kw to a 20kw not to mention the price difference one being $2,199 & the other at $3,699 so which would you think would win. Also there is no mention about the THD % of either unit which will determine what electronics can be operated on them. Thanks for the effort in producing the video.

We have been running the Westinghouse 9500 DF generator for 3 years and it ran good the first two years off-grid THEN... It started failing on power output... _240v to 54v output... I tried to get help from their support and instead of a phone call, it was months of back-forth emails to conclude that they were not going to help because of some obscure clause in the warranty about value inspections.... I'll never EVER buy this brand of generator again. We live off-grid and during the winter months with little sun the generator supplements the power.... Do not buy it you need power off-grid...

You can't simultaneously back feed two 50 amp outlets to your house even if you have two panels. The other 50 can only be used if you use a power cord to an appliance like a frig or multiple frigs but it has me considering replacing my Generac 17500 due to LOW THD which you failed to mention and is most important

You can run both 50amp cables to the house. I have the westinghouse and have already done that. The way my panels are setup, I had to. My hvac systems got wired wonky, so I have the downstairs condensor and upstairs evaporator on one panel, then the upstairs condensor and downstairs evaporator on the other panel. So, I'm running both 50amp outlets back to the house. Now I can pick and choose what I want to run from the panels instead of stringing drop cords everywhere. With minimal effort, it will run 2, 2.5 ton hvac systems.
