A lot of funny commentary surrounding Johnson's shots because sometimes they're hard to believe. Just after 0:57 the commentator says "The bunkers are not really in play for Dustin Johnson...but those ones way out there...and 3:26 "I used to lay up there with my second Nick"

Don’t understand how he can create so much speed with such control? Smh dude is an unbelievable athlete

he must be the best striker in the world today. He's longer than mcilroy and seems to be more reliable. He's just an incredible driver of the ball. Best there's been for a while.

I haven't seen anyone else hit a 4 iron like 2:58

James Rose That's the shot that blew me away too. That ball has carried maybe 240 with the flight of an 8 iron. Incredible.

no doubt about it, he's the greatest driver of the ball we have ever seen.

The fact that a 5'7" drives it only 8 yards less on average than a 6'3" shows how good a driver Rory is. Also DJ has been between 130 and 160 in driving accuracy the last couple years so he can't be addressed as "the greatest driver of the ball we have ever seen." He hits it a mile but driving is more than just distance.

Thanks for putting this together. Rest assured I'll be watching this many times - nobody crushes it like Dustin! I'd like to know the length of the hole at about 3:58. Presumably it's a par 4 of at least 330 yards...
@Bionicrecovery7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, not sure of the exact yardage at that back pin location, but around 330 would be a good estimate

I think, once ever, out on the east coast, I caught one just right off the tee with a driver-put it a good 275 yds., and really was blown away. It was one lucky, perfect strike. These guys do it on essentially every shot ....... un-f'ing-real.....
@Skumtomten16 жыл бұрын
Not that I would ever be a pro golder no matter how much I tried, but these guys hits 1000 balls a day, it helps their length consistency.

i dont get how he does it. i'm 6'7 250 and when i swing out my ass i can get a 180 maybe 183 ball speed. and i have no clue where it's headed. he looks like he's barely swinging.

Apparently Tiger Woods had a swing speed of 130mph plus up to 2000 which is faster than Dustin Johnson - so who would win in a driving competition with modern equipment? I guess its also down to accuracy. A lot of pro-long-drivers are not great golfers overall..
@redd71887 жыл бұрын
James Rose makes sense because Tiger of 2000 was more flexible. Which is why I do not understand why he started all the weight lifting because he just seemed to get the club around himself a lot better before he packed on all the muscle.
@ScratchArkkitehti7 жыл бұрын
I simply dont understand how Tiger could age like any normal man? #baffled
@SofaKing8807 жыл бұрын
O. G. No, he caked on layers and layers of microfibers, stripping away his flexibility. U wanna blame it on aging? Go take a look at Furyk who is still launching drives 275+. Oh and Tiger had one fucked up sexual and social life, draining his health. JS
@ScratchArkkitehti6 жыл бұрын
weak argument....wtf? I thought we talked about golf you pious piece of sh!t
@SofaKing8806 жыл бұрын
O. G. We were discussing Tiger's health; a topic that YOU brought up bud. Pious-adj.- The state of being strongly, religiously devout. What the FUCK pertains to religion here? Yes, my argument is weak.
@amarug6 жыл бұрын
his drives are out of this world, and he is prolly the best at it that ever was.. but i am not a big fan of the super aggressive swing look, it looks so tense and forced. it stresses me to watch, im an easy going guy, i much prefer the swing aesthetics of fred couples or ernie els. if you see someone rip one that looks like he will tear a hole into spacetime like DJ, you expect it to fly a million miles. but i find it almost more fascinating when you see ernie or fred who "seem to hardly do anything" and it still goes pretty far... just rambling lol /exit
@SofaKing8807 жыл бұрын
Wanna pick up tons of speed and accuracy? Push the wrists forward, turn your body all the way back with a square face, and explode on the downswing with your hips, feeling like this is the only thing happening on the downswing. You WILL hit snap hooks initially...then your path will automatically move in to out and you will crush your shots (with all clubs) dead straight. Remember, only downswing plane matters; the backswing plane means NOTHING.
