I'm a Red Sox fan, and have been so since I was 8-years-old. What I'm not - is a hater. That said, I have a lot of respect for the Dodger organization and seeing these 'Backstage" videos gives you that behind the scenes the day in, day out view of a major league club's operations. So cool seeing the way Roberts greeted the rookie and praised him for his efforts in the minors. Can't imagine the thrill of getting "the call" and then being able to tell your parents you made it to the big leagues. Awesome stuff!

I cannot but respect ALL of the big league, every sport world, especially for their pure spirit.

The more I see these videos, the more I believe that if the Dodgers media department were making movies, we'd still have epics worth watching like the old classics. I am obviously biased since I have bled Dodger Blue from Brooklyn to LA (thanks to Jim Gilliam), but show me another short feature department anywhere that makes features like this that can hold a candle to the Dodgers.

Back in 1982 coming out of high school I would have sold my soul to have stood in at 6'5'" like my moms brother frank Jones. I could have been in the mets farm system getting a possible change to play with theur great mets teams from the 80's. I could already crush a ball just standing in at 5'10"/170 lbs as a 17 year old senior. My dumbass started partying and smoking pot in1982 blowing my chances to get signed. We kept kingsport mets appalachian league rookie players. Bobby valentine liked my speed and strong arm throwing the ball in from the outfield when I went to a summer try out at only 16 years old. I could already hit using a louisville slugger wooden bat and I could also play catcher which was my favorite position to play besides center field. Just 2 years out of high school in 1984 I stood 6'0" tall and weighed about 210 lbs. I could have crushed a baseball even further at tgat size. But I blew it parting and not giving a damn about baseball in my senior year. I was hooked on partying and chasing the young ladies.
