Taking a break after getting knocked out is what a lot of fighters should do and he made the right choice. Too many guys get knocked out and try to get back to it too fast just to get knocked out again.

We mortals just don't understand what it's like to deal with that kind of violence and heartbreak. The closest I ever got was playing football in high school and getting absolutely dominated by a left tackle who went on to play D1. I was a decent linebacker, but this MAN whipped my ass for 4 quarters to the point where I almost faked an injury to get out of the game, LOL. Elite athletes are a different breed.

I'm not gonna come here putting on medals after the result vs Benoit, that's for pricks but to me Dustin has always been a premier fighter after the Hooker fight. That fight was maybe the best fight I seen live and I still remember it thinking..."these two are just psychopaths". People underestimates Dustin because he's got something to say. When Dustin was was coming up the game, there was a show done on him getting ready for fights and bits of his fights as he worked his way through the regional scene down south. He takes a couple belts and Tim creadeur works to get him ready hoping to get him to the ufc. I can't remember what I watched it on, maybe sho or HBO but if you can find it, it is definitely fun to watch. I watched it before I knew who he was so when he arrived in the ufc, I was like, hey, I watched a show on him a while back to my buddies. Pretty cool to see someone do that knowing the kid was something special in the fighting scene.

Knowing your opponent is a little hurt but not jumping on the chance, only to get finished later must suck mentally. That thought of "what if I had went for the finish then" is probably stuck with him.
