You are easily one of the greatest power tool woodworkers on KZfaq, i am in awe at your precision and attention to detail. What I can’t believe is I’m only finding your channel now!
@ethangerardot2048 ай бұрын
The precision in each of your large tool setups is incredible. Love seeing that. Well done. Very impressive. It is so difficult to make something like this with such a hard wood. The end result is stunning! I love that you let the splines on the table top shine. Very interesting look.

Sir, you have just created an heirloom piece. This has to be the strongest table on the planet. Your attention to detail is impeccable. Your tools are to be desired. That Festool part to sand on an angle is priceless. I grew up watching New Yankee Workshop with Norm Abram but you could definitely have your own television series. Cheers from Brooklyn, NY.

What a beautiful piece of work, that table will last for generations. I had a Rockwell 12" or 14" radial arm that I only used for dadoes and half laps, so it was nice seeing you use one the same way. I'm sure some people will say, "sure he builds nice stuff because he has all the tools." I would say they are not any good without the knowledge. You also have a lot of hand work in this project that also lets us know your skill level.Congrats on the build.

Its a must have in a shop even though a lot of guys don't realize how much better it is than a chop saw.
@barmpity6 ай бұрын
@@dandeflavis7004to be fair it's generally only used dangerously or as a chop saw! 😂 Having a burned out old radial arm saw built in to the bench of a shop I moved into has really put me on to the utility over a chop saw. Even a clapped out old saw ends up being really useful! Now I really wish I could find a replacement motor or saw head for it because I'd have to tear a lot of it apart to pull the whole assembly out of there. But it's old as the hills, I think a late 70s or early 80s model off the top of my head, and so far my searches have come up dry.

This guy is good but he has the best of the best tools which are precision tools which makes joinery so much easier to do and you need to have a basic understanding of math and be creative and have the hunger for wood work and passion for the warmth that wood gives a person who loves and appreciates wood !!

Got to say after spending 8.5 hours a day (pretty much every day, been a mechanical designer for 30+ years now !!!!) sat designing things that will be fabricated from stainless steel, for a Pharma company, and don't get me wrong we have some beautiful shiny bits of equipment. Its still nice to watch a master craftsman at work, making something that is physically nice to touch (wood) and not cold and clinical like metal !!!! I have a long long way to go in my workshop, currently still making cutting board, and chess boards cos they are relatively easy !!!!!!!

Thanks - sorry I do not have the time or space to offer mentorship’s or apprenticeships to all the people who ask. The best I can do is make these videos and more and hope people can learn from them. Perhaps in the future when I have more time and space I can offer some classes
@bewoproductions90978 ай бұрын
@@dustylumberco I know. I was responding simply with that very understanding. It seems there are several folks in your comments who would also love apprenticeships. My only intention is to compliment your work. I myself also do not have time to move to Canada and do an apprenticeship. I am building furniture as a hobby, and I do hope that it will one day become my full time gig. I currently teach violin lessons to a ton of young students, and I am swamped with it until the day comes that my wood working comes much closer to your status. Thanks for sharing your craftsmanship.

Thank you very much. Keep it up! Truth is I was just a guy in his garage with budget ryobi tools and a used table saw 8 years ago. Only wood work class I ever took was in high school a million years ago. Just started making stuff and learning from mistakes and always reinvesting profits into upgrading my tools. Then a few years into it I started learning how to make content and edit videos by trial and error. Anyone can do it if they will put in the work 👍
