First of all, congratulations! Secondly I'd like to know: Although the inburgeringscursus is mandatory, but now you passed it, was it worth it, did it teach you stuff you will (be able) to use or do you consider it a waste of time and money?

You didn’t show a flag in top with a backpack/schoolbag attached to the flagpole. It shows everyone you passed the exams successfully. Congratulations!!!

@@JoviesHome And incidently in the USA usally the flag is raised every morning at the school if I'm not mistaken. Which makes me wonder what they do on the 4th of july: ironicly don't raise the flag?!?

@@PendelStevenSorry this is very late, but usually in July here in the US there is no school because most schools start summer break in the first week of June and summer break ends in September which children go back to school for another school year. That being said a lot of people do barbecues with family on July 4th and use it to spend time together with their family and friends.

i think you are amazing you are an inspiration and i luv the way you took on the challenge on becoming dutch and you are doing it, it is really hard to learn our language and to fit in but as far as i can judge you are doing a stellar job , you should be so proud of yourself

Besides Harry Jekkers you need a medical study to speak proper Haags :P (swearing in Haags contains a lot diseases).

You can see the grades of your results. Go to Letters in your inburgeren portal, there will be PDF copies of the letters with exam results they originally posted to you. There you can find the cijfer.

Once I applied for my Dutch citizenship it was 1 year from the time they received the application. In fact, they quote a year and if it takes longer you are eligible for a partial refund (my friend got money back!) Congratulations on passing the exams! 🥳

Congratulations! I must say I had it much easier. I immigrated to the Netherlands in 1974. The first week I got a residency permit, found a job the second week and obtained a work permit immediately. A year later the situation was very different and more difficult. I became a Dutch citizen in 1997, didn't have to take any tests at all, not to demonstrate my proficiency in Dutch or knowledge of Dutch history, culture or government. I do believe I would have passed the tests if they had been required.

I do feel the next step is learning Bargoens, which sometimes makes its way all over the country. Like lefgozer, which is Bargoens Dutch: part of our language derived from Yiddish, ultimately from Hebrew. Lefgozer translates to opschepper: bragger. In that meaning. Ultimately 'tuig van de richel' is also Bargoens: bad people. If you watch any Dutch television you'll eventually learn pretty much all of it like mazzel, smeris, bajes, porem... And the Dutch show Penoza is named after Penoze: the underworld.

Congratulations and thanks! Next time I am posted a question on how hard hard it is for a a US person to get a citizenship in the EU, I have something to refer to. Each member state is different, and I only knew about Finland...
