DUTCH OVEN BREAD RECIPE:
* IMPORTANT TIP - Make sure dutch oven is heated for atleast 1 hour at 500 degrees or bread will not come out.
*IMPORTANT TIP 2 - Do not use parchment paper to drop dough into dutch oven. I have seen many recipes using this and it tastes really bad and ruins your dutch oven. Do not be scared to just drop it in. Just try to make sure it is face side up.
🔸6 CUPS BREAD FLOUR OR AP FLOUR
🔸1 1/2 TSP SALT
🔸1 TBSP DRY ACTIVE YEAST
🔸2 2/3 CUP WATER
🔷Step 1:
Mix dry ingredients first then continue to mix until no dry flour is on bottom of bowl. Do not over mix. Cover bowl and leave on counter (room temp) for 12-18 hours to ferment.
🔷Step 2:
Pour out dough onto floured work surface and form into ball and let rest 15 mins (first rise).
After 15 mins is over form dough into a slight rectangle and then fold each side and then form into a ball. Cover and leave for final rise 2 hours.
🔷Step 3:
Heat Dutch Oven at 500 degrees for 1 hour prior to baking. Drop dough into heated Dutch Oven and cook 30-40 minutes with lid on. You can take off lid last 10 mins to give more color (optional). Let cool before slicing.
