STUPID title. She was responsible only in name. Had she refused to sign, The Netherlands would not be a monarchy anymore. Also, the reason The Netherlands were unable to continue their overseas empire of Dutch East India, was the US of A. The Americans supported Indonesia's independence because its leaders were anti-communist. And The Netherlands had been liberated only 5 years earlier by the Allied armies (USA - UK - Canada - Australia - New Zealand - India - France - Soviet Union) plus it received millions and millions as part of the American Marshall Aid that were intended to help Western Europe rebuild itself from the ashes and ruins of the Second World War. Again: stupid title.

Exactly The rapid and complex developments of the mid-20th century were too quick for the Dutch authorities to properly respond too.

@@Intel-i7-9700kThank you for replying. "Signing away" the Dutch Empire was the only proper thing to do in my opinion. The only reason we could send 100,000 troops to the other side of the world was the US Marshall Aid.

When we will fight till the end in Papua with Russian equipment, Dutch armies run away behind American's butt..it showed us who is truly coward. Dutch armies only brave to face unarmed people
