I think it counts because he didn't DIRECTLY talk with Harry and Meghan via email or phone, rather he spoke to their team who basically was a third party of communication. Just because they didn't read the final draft doesn't mean they didn't contribute. They should've just been honest. What he is printing in his book is simply nothing more than his guesses, estimations and opinions. Yet, he is trying to market them as facts. The fact you think this is somehow a journalistic whistleblower finally shedding light into the royal family suggests you too have fallen for his facade. The Royal Family have been investigated, written about, studied, and even audited (their financials are audited every year) for hundreds of years. Omid Scobie doesn’t have access to that information apart from what the rest of us would see in a historical paper, or a lifestyle blog. He wouldn’t have any information regarding the inner workings of the royal family. Even if you believe that there needs to be ‘deep conservations about the royal family’ Omid Scobie isn’t the person to have them, simply because nothing he said would be based on fact, or any type of formal investigation into the Royal Family. If Omid has based this book on headlines and stories reported, then are we to say that those stories are also false and full of lies? We have recently come to learn that that story regarding Meghan making Catherine cry the day before the wedding was twisted and reported incorrectly, so how do we believe anything if we can’t even trust the news? My personal opinion is that the royal family should come out and confirm or deny what happened, as I believe only then would be able to get to the bottom of it and work out a way to move on and learn as a country.
