I was raised in a Catholic home. Never missed the Mass. Never once did I hear this teaching until I started listening to Fr. R about 4 years ago. My husband and I even told our NFP story in PreCana. Never did the leaders or priest teach this. I am 50 yrs old and I think our generation was ripped off by the Church for not teaching this. I thank God for His mercy for my marriage is a miracle of His Grace. I now tell younger women to practice the virtues needed to be a housewife and mother. Our Lady Pray for us!!!

In the (Catechism of the Council of Trent) it speaks of our Marrital Duties and Obedience. It does speak of that the Women is not to work outside the Home without the Permission of the Husband. Unfortunately in this Modern Society that would cause many couples to Divorce. Many Women will completely reject this teaching of the Catholic Church and fight against it to the point of Divorce. Womans need to be submitted to their husband's in humility, how the Church need to be submitted to Christ. It's indicative that Paul use those examples, in fact today, both, Churches and woman's prefer to not be submitted at all, to their duties, at cause of human pride that lead them in confusion.

I acknowledge that marriage as an institution is suffering in our modern world, and that some place the blame on feminism. I think it's important to remember that up until relatively recently, women were dependent on men, and had to endure abuse in order to survive. I thank God that marital rape and coercion are acknowledged as abuse in our current time, and that women are able to escape abusive marriages and support themselves.
