We haven't used the PR-24 since 1992. I was issued the PR-24 only for riots and crowds dispersal. We started using ASPs in 1992 when I was in police Science and the academy. I bought all my own stuff! Duty belt and pouches back then 500 bucks. I bought my own 21 inch ASP Baton and scabbard, my own Safariland Smith and Wesson model 300 and 100 handcuffs. I bought my own Stinger flashlight to. 300 bucks extra. Our dept. Uses Safariland duty belts 94 and with the buckle. We use plane black and basket weave. We use Safariland plane black and basket weave pouches. No nylon. We never cross draw fella. I drew left handed and transfer it to my right hand. We carried oc spray, Smith and Wesson model 4506 with 2 extra mags. Handcuffs, ASP Baton, flashlight, key holder and glove pouch. 25 years later we have tasers, TQ and NARCAM.

ESP expandable baton is a beast, and their accessories and variations are just outstanding. Down side is you have to get them exported, I got mine while I served overseas in Europe. Got extensive use while I was deployed to Iraq.

You definitely changed my mind on cross drawing, used to cross draw. Gonna switch it up to my support hand from now on.

You should definitely look into the Bonowi brand of batons. I own a 26 inch steel version and it's like nothing I've felt before. I'd think you'd like it

What about the ASP Talon with the disc lock system? That should solve the problem of closing the baton without giving the suspect any chance of resisting

I have an expandable PR24 from London PD.......curious as to your thoughts.......I like the defensive aspect but my ASP is what I’ve used for years.

I like to use the PR-24 but I would like to use the wood straight baton

Does anybody know how to fix the locking mechanism in expendable baton? It lock very lightly in place ,and I can collapse with my hand! Not good.

what do you think of locking baton holders? I'm unarmed and so i would like some retention

From a security guard standpoint would there be a tactical advantage in having 2 batons on your duty belt? Keeping them at the 4 and 8 o'clock positions in breakaway holsters it seems to me that it would be a good idea if dealing with 2 threats at once.

I own a guard dog c class carbonised extendable baton but, there is one issue it's pink should I use it if I were in the situation demanding self defence effectively regardless of the color?

i have my own set of real metal chain handcuffs but is it legal for me to carry them on me
