I just bought the same one. For the first time I made a smash burger on it. I always make smash burgers on my weber propane grill with a flatop griddle. I'm telling y'all this induction stove killed my weber in smash burgers . It gave it the ultimate crust. I first grilled my buns (😂) on it at 220 degrees. then i set it at its max temp which is 460 degrees. It shot up to 515 degrees in under 2 minutes which I used my laser thermometer to check the temp. For a second i thought my temp gauge was a stop watch because of how fast the temp gauge read as it was climbing in temp. So that max temp of 460 is an under spec for sure. In comparison for my weber propane grill to hit over 500 from lets say I start at 250 ( since thats the temp I toast my buns at and thats the first step for my smash burgers) it takes 15 to 20 minutes to hit over 500 from 250... I am a believer and only bought this for my daughter since she wants to learn how to cook but she's scared of fire.

If you want to keep it at a very low simmer for many hours, will it still make that high pitched noise?

I'm pretty sure I saw a weight limit of 35 pounds while researching this Duxtop model.

When you buy this cooktop new, do you have to burn off a chemical layer before using it like infrared burners?
