The blue on the DV8 liners really pops with the islander blue. I would have guessed that you would have had to pull the tires off to get them in there because of how rigid they are but it didn't look like it was a problem at all. Nice work!!

They are pretty rigid, but they are flexible enough to maneuver into place. I love how the blue turned out as well it looks so awesome! Thanks for watching!

Your welcome, I love the channel! As for Wheeling it, not too much... maybe 3 times this year, and most of that was on a very easy-going class 6 Road =(

Im having a hard time with step 6. How did you get the lil catch to sit right?
@TheBeardedJeeper
@TheBeardedJeeper 5 жыл бұрын
I had to bend it a little to get it to sit right. I still don’t think mine sits right. It’s not really important and doesn’t do much. As long as you have the other bolts in and tight you should be fine. If you have any rattling you can put furniture pads behind them to keep them quiet. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. Hope that helps

thank you! I have heard good things about the Ace inner fenders as well. I like the idea of a one piece design. These are the only ones I have tried, so I can't compare them to others. Thank you for watching!

The bolts you added in step 5 help prevent the rattling noise ?
@TheBeardedJeeper
@TheBeardedJeeper 4 жыл бұрын
The Abe System yes they do. I had to put some small furniture pads under mine for a while to stop the noise. You have to mess around with them to get them to sit right and stay quiet

Did you get any rattling? I have these and have had them for over 2 years and have had the worst possible experience. Tons of rattling... I just pulled them off again... and am planning on putting weather stripping on every metal contact and then plan on zip tying them in once bolted. DV8 has been absolutely awful in their customer service 0 help... they told me 1 of every 20 rattles and I somehow got a pair that rattles... any help would be awesome

Ali Kronz I had a few issues with small rattles. I figured out where it was rattling and put those self sticking furniture pads underneath them. That seemed to work. I know have a slight rattle again because my tires have rubbed them like crazy. I am going to put some self tapping screws through them into the frame. I've seen that hold them really secure. I would figure out what is rattling on them and put pads or weather stripping wherever they are making contact. Hope this helps and if you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Did you have to remove the fender flare in order to install the liner? Because I had to, and now the flare wont fit on top.

Dr Villegas no I didn't have to remove the flare I just slid it up into place. What flares do you have?

How have these liners held up? I'm looking at buying new liners and several reviews say the paint chips easily and the factory didn't drill all of the holes needed for install.
@TheBeardedJeeper
@TheBeardedJeeper 7 жыл бұрын
Jason Poturalski mine the holes all lined up. They are powder coated and so far they have held up to the harsh New England weather. I will let you know if anything changes but so far no chipping at all. Thanks for watching.

Jason Poturalski I had both powder coated black and aluminum , powder coated black chips away very easily I ended up returning it and getting the silver one sanded it down and bed lined it black to give it less rattle because of the texture and then painting mesh

Eddie NYC that's strange that yours have started chipping. Mine still look great! Maybe they got coated wrong or something or maybe I haven't had mine on long enough. How long have you had yours on for?
@alienluv51

They were chipping the first day i screwed them on.In two month i gave two sets a shot and I just now actually removed all of the DV8 inner fenders the rattle became to much for me , its sucks because they looked great but they sound like shit! and they rattled so loud people would look at the jeep and wonder " wth is going on with that thing " lol . going to go back to OEM inner liners I'm so done with metal liners .
@TheBeardedJeeper
@TheBeardedJeeper 7 жыл бұрын
Eddie NYC I do love the look. I have had a little rattle here and there but I fixed it by putting rubber underneath where it was hitting the frame and now it's quiet. As far as the chipping I wonder if they changed the process how they cost them. Mine seem to be holding up fine.

My dv8 inner fenders make a lot of noise too. How did you make the noise stop?
@TheBeardedJeeper
@TheBeardedJeeper 7 жыл бұрын
Alyssa Ramirez do you know where the noise is coming from? My guess is it is coming from the front of the fender liner. Try moving the liner by hand and you should be able to hear where the metal is hitting. Then buy some foam or something to place between the liner and the body of the jeep to cushion the contact so you don't hear the metal hitting metal. Hope this helps. Feel free to send me pictures or video of how it is making noise so I can help out more.

The Bearded Jeeper it actually makes noise close to the fire wall. It's so weird. They didn't give me any foam inserts. I purchased mine through extreme terrain.
@TheBeardedJeeper
@TheBeardedJeeper 7 жыл бұрын
Alyssa Ramirez yeah I didn't get any foam inserts either. Did you tighten the arm that contacts the firewall? Also do you have all the bolts in and are they tight?
@alyssaramirez1681
@alyssaramirez1681 7 жыл бұрын
The Bearded Jeeper I tightened them as much as I could. I didn't want to strip them either.
@TheBeardedJeeper
@TheBeardedJeeper 7 жыл бұрын
Alyssa Ramirez yeah I almost stripped mine. I found the size wrench the recommend was a little loose to fit on. I think I ended up using a 3mm Allen key to tighten mine. I would look for where the liner contacts the frame and try pushing on the liner to see where it contacts the frame, and once you find that spot try putting some weather stripping or some kind of foam between the frame and the liner to get rid of the metal clunk
