I remember when i was really young and I was the only one awake when the movie finished, and the house did that "jumpscare" roar and scared the shit out of me. The fact that the tv was pretty big doesn't make it any better lmao.

Out of ALL the scary things that happened in this movie the menus screen is what scared me the most and I was 2 when this came out

Oh god, I remember being TERRIFIED of this menu. I remember waking up late at night with the menu still playing. I had to go to the bathroom, yet I was scared. Part of me was tempted to just sit there. That menu was SCARY to little me!

The power of nostalgia! Absolutely remember seeing this menu as a kid whenever watching it for Halloween or in general. Loved it!

One time when me and my brother shared a room when we were younger. We watched this movie before bed. (We had a small tv) . I just remember waking up in the middle of night , cuz I guess we passed out during the movie. And there was the fricken title screen W/ THE JUMPSCARES!!! I remember owning a DVD of this movie years and years ago when I was a kid. This easily became my childhood horror movie and god damn did the menu scare me back then. But looking back at it the menus they did and bonuses were creative back then. Also I remember learning that the original main menu before watching it wouldn’t jumpscare you, but when the movie finished then there would be a random chance of a jumpscare popping up at any moment. If I could find a DVD for this movie again then god knows I’d buy it in a heartbeat!

When I just so surprised about monster house, that it was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for best Animated Feature But lost to both Warner Bros’ Happy Feet and Pixar’s Cars Respectfully, But Monster House did win for 4 other movie awards.

Me and my friend watched this movie and it was like 2 and about to be 3 and so when the movie ended we had to be stuck on the main menu because we were scared of the dark and decided to use the TV for a source of light. We also didn't have the remote so we constantly had to hear the music and the roaring over and over again all night until we fell asleep.

The jumpscare got me so bad as a kid. I wish someone would upload it

i remember laying in my grandmas bed going to sleep and her helping me turn on the movie but i was always so scared of this so i always looked away but the music and the ambience always felt kind of soothing

If you wait long enough on the main screen, the house will perform a jumpscare.

Ok, can we just take a moment for some reason? When I was younger, I wanted a dvd. So I chose this one. When I put it in my dvd player, I went to set up, clicked on subtitles and turned them on. When I went out of set up, the house would give me a frickin jump scare because it roared at me. Not gonna lie. I screamed so loud I wanted to run away. It would keep on going until I had to click play movie and it would eat the camera up and I would scream again. Frickin scared me man. I hated it. 😭😭

And this is the reason I ran away from Monster House until I was 19
