9:17 Thrust bearings appear not lubed, be sure to disable clutch safety switch and start car without clutch being depressed.

@@alexj.9268 Nope I'm saying stuff happens off camera a lot additionally even if he didn't lube it properly I am sure he knew and knew what corrective action to take without Alex j subaru master mechanics assistance. But thanks for pointing it out for everyone to think that for sure he made a mistake so you can look smart and get an endorphin rush from the thumbs up from everyone that probably have never pulled an ej, you know just for your own self assurance about your worth. He’s blown like 2 motors cause of mechanical failure as in the mechanic(devin) Nobody’s perfect doesn’t matter if you have 100 high hp builds anybody can make a mistake as simple as forgetting to lube it up. And anybody that “mods races and builds” should know that..

You should really invest In wiseco billet aluminum ring compressors. They come in exact sizes and are perfectly tapered and well worth the price

I'm a newbie and not very mechanically inclined but have an interest in becoming a tech. This was extremely useful. Can you do a 1-2 hour video in the future making a more thorough and detailed rebuild on an STI engine?

Hey devin , when assembling the short block . The crank bearings you purchased are they already within the clearances you need , or what do you do if the clearances are not within spec. Do you purchase a set with the correct spec, or do you get them machined. Also when you send the cylinder heads to the machine shop, do you adjust the valves , or does the machine shop do that for you.

@@Itsmeart1988 Still have to check the clearances............... Also @yojam, the machin shop *should shim the heads/ buckets, but you should always check once the heads are bolted down incase something changes after everything is torqued.

Theres no other Performance Rod Companies that could come up with a set for you .You are going to be disappointed if you have a Rod failure when you could have built it with the Best ones available ???? I am sure you know best for your build just curious .

Best thing to clean dirty hardware is diesel. Gas does a pretty good job but I've found diesel does way better.

Could you tell me what tools exacly you got man i got quite a bit of engine to do and always used the ghetto way whit filler gauges. And i dont want to by a tools thats sucks and i use anabolic gasket maker to seal these bottom ends since the gasket only sets fully bolted and the residue dilutes in the oil so so chance to have selicone in engine passes.
