More drama! We take the DW86 to MSL Performance to get to the bottom of the terrible running issues we had the day before at Donington Park. We start by finding 100whp, then explode oil everywhere.... Joy!

Phil you're a star mate, don't let it get to you. I left my pool in refill mode the other day, came back to the house two days later to a complete swamp and neighbours asking why water was overflowing into there property. We are all human and learning from our mistakes is what matters. Onwards and upwards with your fantastic AE86 which has no rival ;)

Great video. The real trials and tribulations of Racecar prep. I rebuilt an engine and while running in the cam an injector decided it didn’t want to close. The engine stalled and filled the cylinder with fuel. Found out the injectors were fake. Not happy. Anyway, good to see a positive result and looking forward to hearing it rip on track again!

Ooooh gutted for you guys. Really felt for Phil when the filter came off. You could see in his face he was genuinely gutted they had spunked oil on the dyno. These things happen and at least I’ll always check the original oil filter seal isn’t stuck on. 😂

So common in workshops…nearly every mechanic has to do it, you only do it once then learn to double check the seal has come off with the filter, you cannot even get away with it and think no one saw because it always makes one holy mess. 🤦‍♂️

Done the same thing on a mondeo when i was younger. Filter on run up and pop oil everywhere. switched off straight away. Major clean up and lesson leaned.. amazing it held for them few practice laps. Great content again enjoyed watching.

Phil that was a rookie mistake but Im glad you showed it! I've done that myself and had to clean up the mess not fun... But better than blowing an engine!

Pain in the arse, but actually a better outcome than even a burst oil filter, because then you'd be wary of all oil filters! Really glad that the poor running could be solved with little more than fuelling tweaks. Top content as always 👍👌

Phil I know how your feeling. Changed the oil and filter on my daily and cross threaded the filter, and proceeded to throw oil all over the driveway and road outside my house. Nightmare 😫 Anyway loving the Daily content, keep it going 👍

When I did work experience at Toyota they had hose reels on the wall that dispensed oil. I had pulled the oil gun round to top up a car and stopped to chat to my boss, when the convo ended he nodded to my legs and said "you might want to take your finger off the trigger.." he'd kept me talking while I was inadvertantly trickling oil down my legs and all over the floor 😡😁

I made the "not checking to see if the old gasket came off with the filter" mistake 23 years ago in an auto hobby shop at Eglin AFB in front of a lot of people, definitely a do once and learn for life type lesson lol

We could hook up close loop but unless you know the exact target afr it’s no a big help , the BIG cam had a very strange map , even this one makes more pore when weaker than you would want to run , and we had very limited time to check stuff .

I’m late to the party, but seen you guys polishing the lexan windows. What kind of polish are you guys using? Because I also got lexan windows and want to make them look nicer again, but don’t really know what’s safe to use.

We use something called Vuplex. Sometimes you need to used something a bit coarser though.
