Deutsche Bank managers driven by greed set it on the wrong track in the 2000s. For many years, the financial institution maintained close ties with Vladimir Putin. And involved itself in shady deals with the Russian autocrat.
In the early 2000s, Deutsche Bank wanted to make it big in Moscow. For some employees, this was something to be achieved by any means necessary: bribing Putin’s officials, brothel visits for good customers, money laundering for the mafia.
When it all came to light, this sent a shock wave through the bank: to this day, Deutsche Bank is still laboring under the burden of fines totaling billions. But the CEOs claimed total innocence. Just one of many scandals.
Other questionable deals include loans to Donald Trump. The bank’s very special relationship with the US-American real estate tycoon began in the year 1998. Trump was one of Deutsche Bank’s best customers until shortly before his 2017 presidency. The credit institute loaned him huge sums - despite his track record for business bankruptcy and a dubious reputation as a defaulting debtor.

I find it incredible that Josef Ackermann is giving this interview in a nice home while wearing a nice suit - instead of giving this interview in a prison visitation room, while wearing a prison jumpsuit... and the person watching this documentary is NOT supposed to find this strange at all 🤯 We live in a mad, mad world 😣

Deutsche Bank's little sister bank the Raiffeisen Bank International AG should be too. Raiffeisen Bank was willing to finance Trump's project in Toronto after all other major banks said, NO!!!!! It's clear now that it was a Russian oligarch's money laundering operation. I believe Raiffeisen never seen the $ 310 million of investment and wrote it off.

Because well connected bankers, politicians, lawyers and real estate developers are above the law. The justice system will always find somebody to make an example out of it. Remember, Sam Bankman-Fried, Bernie Madoff , Martha Stewart, ect. took the fall for the corrupt system they've been working in. Law and justice always makes an example out of an individual who overstepped the redline of corruption acceptable. The rest moves on unscathed.

"There's one overriding fact. The entire financial system of the Western world is in private unelected unaccountable hands, the hands of people who meet in absolute secrecy. The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) every four five six weeks has a meeting of the top governors of the banks, and they meet in absolute secrecy. And they have the big banking families and so forth, they all meet up. The 'minutes' are never made available and they decide on the money creation and the money supply of the world. But none of us are allowed to know anything about it." ~Justin Walker, 03/20/2023

@marisabenson1222
@marisabenson1222 11 күн бұрын
Yes. Firstly they were ine of the very few who would provide a loan. Interestingly this was helped by the son of a Republican retired Supreme Court judge who happened to be working there at the time. When trump couldn't repay the loan they sued him and he counter sued with the argument that they should never have loaned him the money. In other words you knew I wasn't good for it by your own standards but went ahead anyway so it's your fault. Trump is never to blame.

@@sheilaboston7051, that was Kennedy. Yes he appointed 3 judges and they are all on the take. Our SCOTUS is illegitimate and we are going to have to get rid of the lifetime appointments and stack the court until we can balance the court and give it back it's legitimacy and honor. We have some really good democrats in the Congress and Senate and it will be better in 4 years. Biden has done great things and they are doing everything to make it seem like he is as corrupt as trump but people who are educated and read legitimate news know the truth, he has been in politics for 50 plus years and he is not for sale and his bank account proves that he is not on the take. All they have done is target his son who had a drug problem but he is not doing drugs anymore but Don't Trump Jr. seems to be on something when he is on camera he is all hyped up like a cocaine addict acts. They are always projecting, so whatever they accuse Biden or his son of is what they themselves are doing.

Disagree. Investment banks create ways for clients to manage their risks. Some clients use them sensibly to manage their risks down (e.g. hedging foreign exchange exposure) and some using them to increase their risk by taking out exposure to things like sub-prime mortgages as a pure speculation. The correct question, in my humble opinion, is whether clients were properly informed and aware of what they were buying. Anyway most of this video is about fraud, or at the very least stretching of rules to the limits of decency, rather than gambling.
