मेघालय में एक महिला एक खास तरह की हल्दी की खेती को लोकप्रिय बनाने में जुटी हैं. लकदोंग हल्दी ना केवल गुणवत्ता में बेहतर है, बल्कि हल्दी की बाकी किस्मों से महंगी भी है. इससे स्थानीय लोगों को रोजगार भी मिल रहा है और वो खतरनाक रैट-होल माइनिंग भी छोड़ रहे हैं.
One woman in northeastern India is single-handedly reviving turmeric farming as an alternative to dangerous work in illegal coal mines. She trains women to grow a high-quality variety using organic methods, offering them a safe livelihood.

I live in Meghalaya (abode of the clouds) in the Scotland of the East, and we use this , which is sold by a very sweet local lady, who delivers here at our doorstep, this turmeric can easily be differentiated from others because its quite on the orange side in hue. Its taste is also good, and I find it better when you buy it raw (in its hydrated form) and then u just crush It and put in your delicacies. Seriously, we have many things here in Meghalaya which are just on another level, there are around 15900 caves, many are record holders and one of a kind. P.S- Thank you DW Hindi for bringing this to light, however It is requested to pronounce Lakadong as laka-dong, and its written in as 'लाकाडोंग', please pronounce and write correctly and please hear that organic farming lady pronounce it correctly. P.S- we are also fed up of those coal miners, they are threat to the beauty of this heavenly place.

भारत मे काम से कम 15 प्रकार की हल्दी है जो टॉप क्वालिटी की होती है। महाराष्ट्र से भी बेहतर। पर प्रोडक्शन काफी कम होने के कारण प्रचलित नही है।

It's Lakadong Turmeric it's so rich in Curcumin, that it's sold almost 20 times the price of regular Turmeric, and almost all of it is exported to the American Companies. Indians don't value their own items, I can't blame the farmers who sell it to the West as they're paid a fair price meanwhile our Indians will do bhaav tol. "bhaiya waha par toh ₹300 meh bolta Hain Gupta ji ki dukaan meh" 😂 Khasi Farmers are like : Hold my Haldi wala Doodh 😂

In Maharashtra farmers boil raw Haldi without cutting in cooker then take in market after drying by this way it's shelf life increase else it gets bored by kida, same Raw ginger riped and n lime water
