Israeli forces operating in Gaza continue to hunt for local Hamas leader Yehya Sinwar. Sinwar is believed to be the mastermind behind the October 7 terror attacks perpetrated by Hamas, which the US and the EU have designated a terrorist organization. Sinwar spent years in Israeli jails, learning Hebrew and studying his captors.
Here's what we know about the leaders of the group:
Hamas' top leader is Ismail Haniyeh. He functions as its international spokesman and is based in Qatar - out of reach for Israeli ground forces. Mohammed Deif is the head commander of the Qassam brigades - Hamas's military wing. He is believed to have played a crucial role in planning the October 7th terror attacks.
His deputy, Marwan Issa, is also wanted by Israel - as part of Hamas' three-man military council.
And then comes Yehya Sinwar, the top of Israel's hit list. He's considered the mastermind of the Oct. 7 attacks and the head of Hamas in Gaza.

To be more accurate, an israeli doctor saved sinwar's life by removing a brain tumor. Ironically, had they let him die, he wouldn't had used his brain to mastermind the attack.

You don't understand politics. Sinwar never had any choice but to attack. He was forced by Benjamin netenyahu, the Iranian leadership and the Hamas supreme leadership. That is the only reason they saved his live and let him lead Hamas. He basically is a scape goat he's only chance of survival is to do as they said attack Israel, film the videos and the hold ground and hope international sympathy builds for Palestinian people. The winners are Benjamin Netenyahu and Iran. The losers are Palestinian people, Hamas fighters , Saudi and Egypt governments and the Israel liberal political society.

In jordan they were robbing people and were trying to overthrow the king during blk September. Jordan hired Pakistanis and got rid of them. They then killed pm wafi tal. They also killed king abdulla. In kuwait many of them had lucrative jobs. Then they joined forces with saddam and tried to topple kuwait in support of sadam. Out of 400,000, Kuwait expelled 300,000 of them. In lebanon they targeted meronites and created such extremism and radical damage that it has even remained in lebanon until today. @@Leosandoval-pd6di Jordan is Palestine. I do understand that Israelis and Palestinians can not live together. Personally I am not a fan of Islam. Islam also poses a danger to my country. But what I am trying to argue is that this whole conflict is a setup where both Israel and Saudi loose and Iran and Benjamin Netenyahu win. Israel now can not make peace with Saudi and will have to face Iran alone. The fragile Saudi government is under pressure of collapse. Should the government fail modernizing and collapse a nuclear armed Iran would immediately invade and pose a danger to the world including my country.

@@nebyeelda5862 but they treated many hms prisoners as well. In fact, some of those released in exchange for gilad shalit were the ones filming on oct 7. They also treated syrians in the border. If they wouldn't had treated them the world would had cried a river. In fact, After oct7th a lot of israelis were outrage because some of the attackers that were arrested were being treated at the same hospital as the survivors and on one occasion, next to the room of a survivor. They get treated and chose their own path.

The UN prefer to maintain the Palestinians' refugees status because they get tons of money and power in behalf of the "Palestinian cause". The UN have 2 refugees agencies - UNHCR for around 100mil refugees around the world, and UNRWA only for the Palestinians. Please read about UNRWA funds. It's just absurd that the Palestinians still see themselves as refugees for 75 years. They could already have their own country but their leaders have refused any attempt for peace during the history (including the Oslo and Camp David talks in the 90s and 00s) and have never offered an alternative. Their "refugees camps" are actually proper cities. Their leaders are corrupted, they prefer to get the money coming from donations, keep the people poor, and always blame Israel for all their problem. They never really try to SOLVE the problem but they rather USE the problem for their own good.

The fact is, Hamas was founded and elected by Palestinians. Look, Israel tried to work with what it had, both the PLO and Hamas have always supported terror against the state of Israel, and therefore some Israelis thought it might be their interest that they are political enemies. Hamas is also the controller of Gaza since 2005, and therefore Israel couldn't really prevent the Qatari money to enter Gaza "in favor of the Palestinians people". Prisoners release is important issue for the Palestinians as majority of them are held inhumane situation in a overcrowded cells and most importantly the people would like to see their political activists and figures freed such as the Fatah leader Marwan Bargouthi that could bring a united Palestinian front that will advocate for their rights but ofc Israel doesn't want that as it wants Palestinians to remain divided and without leadership so it can pursue its goals in the occupied territories without much uproar in the international scene.

The scale of the retaliation for October 7 is massive compared to the bombings by Russia in Ukraine, but the civilians in Gaza are also packed together much more tightly than in Ukraine. It's a silly comparison.

Those numbers are published by the Hamas lead "health ministry" of Gaza. The numbers are completely unreliable and they count Hamas fighters as civilians because they fight in civilian clothing.

At 2:21, is that Mustafa Barghouti standing next to Yahya Sinwar? That should be rather worrisome, since Barghouti is thought of as being "moderate".... Why doesn't the international community and the UN demand that countries like Qatar and Turkey, and other hosting countries, arrest and hand over to an international body, maybe the ICC, the leaders of Hamas, otherwise they will have to face sanctions, and other consequences? Those countries are direct contributors to the disaster that is unfolding in Gaza.
