For many who try to cross into the USA from Mexico, Tijuana becomes the ultimate end of their journey. Many from Latin America become trapped in the Mexican border town, unable to get into the USA and unable to return home.

Yeah I hate those Mexicans! They should just go back to their home country where they’re trying to escape from because the economy sucks and the cartels are coming for them. And don’t even bother saying Latin America or proper language, you need to say “whatever country you are from”. They are absolutely horrible for working hard to find a new country that helps them be successful. Screw it, let’s start hating them because they’re tan, or start yelling in them in caps lock. Oh, you’re telling me my purely Caucasian family immigrated to the US from England hundreds of years ago like these hard-working Hispanics did? Nah, I’m white so it doesn’t count. America is great and we don’t need to leech off of any other countries ever! Now if you excuse me, I’m gonna go party and drink in Mexico, and fly to Canada for cheap prescriptions, and buy MAGA hats from China.

No one is arguing their right to become US citizens, they have the opportunity to do so. All one has to do is go through the legality process as so many have done already. Is it wrong to be cautious we need to protect our Country first and foremost. Research how many illegals we have in our prison system who have raped, killed, brought drugs ect in this Country. We pay out millions of dollars to have them here yearly only to send them back. We would be ignorant fools not to make every person go through all the legals procautions before they come in. We're not the bad guys here, they only have themselves and their own people to blame for the treatment they are having to deal with. More people need to stop relying on the media for information and show what's really going on down there. Sure they will blast a pic of a woman and her two children running from tear gas( who by the way should be exposed for putting her own children in danger)but don't show grown men throwing rocks at our military and police, urinating through the fence on our soil, waving their country flags and yelling that they are going to kill as many Americans they can!!!! Yeah you don't see or here about that

I agree they are human beings and need help. Many people are granted asylum under humanitarian cause, as a special case, not as blanket category of automatic acceptance for US asylum as you seem to suggest under "Life, liberty and pursuit of happiness" and international law. Being living human being doesn't guarantee you all that you wish for. No foreign born person who enters the US illegally is guaranteed US citizenship, let alone Asylum, regardless of where they came from or their economic status or however long they manage to live under the radar of US gov officials. Poverty is not valid reason for asylum, the world has millions and millions of people living hard conditions. The US can't immigrate everyone out of all their personal problems. Nor does "international law' govern US Immigration and US Federal Court decisions by Immigration Judges. And judges have some leeway on cases, but still must follow US Immigration Statues. Same way the UN --international laws, doesn't decide things like the Death Penalty, Abortion Rights, Prison conditions or many other aspects of US rule of law, regulation and societal norms.

Mexico needs to do more to prevent illegal immigrants from Central & South America, Caribbean and Africa reach a Tijuana and other border cities with the United States. Mexico has its own social problems and huge numbers of poor people to deal with. Now, Tijuana has thousands of people from Haiti and Africa, but the infrastructure is not enough to accommodate more people. Besides, there no jobs for everyone. Leaders from Central & South America need to do more to improve the social conditions in their lands to prevent this exodus of illegal immigrants.

I went to Tijuana in 2015 with four of my pals, three of us are army veterans. When we went to explore around the fence, we met several deportees who served tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Germany. One of them was wounded in battle and received the purple heart and another the silver star for rescuing injured soldiers in the middle of a gun fight. They all spoke perfect English and acted like Americans. But they were deported anyway. Just one had a criminal record for driving with an expired driving license. We wrote letters in their name to the Department of the Army in DC. We are trying to track down the soldiers that were rescued by these men. No word yet. I am only vouching for those deported who served in our armed forces. Some have families in the US, they should have the right to at least start their paperwork to legally enter the country and enjoy the freedoms they signed up for.

The United States is a sovereign nation which means it has a right to protect its borders. There is a legal process in place for entering the United States. If an individual enters the country without complying with the legal process then that individual breaks the law. Breaking the law is a crime. Therefore anyone who enters the United States illegally is a criminal and should be arrested, prosecuted and either imprisoned, deported or both. Regarding the argument that the European settlers stole the United States from the Indians: America was a vast land sparsely populated by nomadic people. The Indians didn't own land, raise crops or domesticate farm animals. The Europeans settled on land that was not owned by anyone. There was no country and there were no laws. So you see the European settlers didn't steal the land from anyone. Every single advancement in the Western Hemisphere is attributed to the white population. Mexicans and other illegal aliens have no legitimate argument when comparing the settling of the United States and entering the United States illegally.

Michael Davis yes i guess people were born in the wrong country, i believe you are an American national so you didn't experienced how it is to be really desperate and not being able to feed your family that there's no other option but to leave their country, i know what your coming from and im not saying you are right or wrong, now i dont know if you know that thousands of Americans go to Mexico to retire there and the mayority stay illegally but who cares right we are talking about latinos being in America illegally.

You know those aren't Mexican's don't you? They are people from the Central American countries. You may not have figured it out yet be we Latinos do look different. They come across the Southern Mexican border and travel north to Tijuana and Juarez. Our Constitution guarantees all men free travel through the country from Latin American countries. The immigrants from Central America give us Mexicans a bad name in the US media. Americanos seem to think that everyone that speaks Spanish and has brown skin is a Mexican. That is far from the truth. There are close to a billion people that speak Spanish as a first language. Mexicans make up only 12%.

One big problem I see with so many immigrants is that they can live a lifetime in an other country but they don't learn the language of that country. My native tongue is Spanish but myself and all of my siblings made it our business to learn English and because of that, we have had better opportunities to get ahead. Being bilingual as a huge asset. I believe in legal immigration. Our borders need to be protected.

Life is full of choices everyone has to choose how they want to live their lives. More than one million of mexicans were deported during the Obama era and most of them now live a normal life in México but there are some people who don't want to adapt and realize their the american dream is over for them. Many people who are deported to the borderline are not mexican everyone year México spent around half of billion Dollars taking care about inmigrants from Central América and deporting them to their contries but other inmigrants stay ilegally here in México and are trouble makers because they are not the kind of people somebody wants as a neighbor.

With their effort to come here for a better life they have caused a lower wages in the states. but the cost of living goes up. It is not fair to the people that came here legally it took some 5 to 10 years to get legal status we have immigration laws just like all other countries including Mexico and we are going to build a wall just like mexico built between them and Guatemala! But ours will be bigger and stronger!
