Man Dying Light 2 is underrated as hell. People criticize it for not being as scary as the first one and not having post apocalyptic vibe while the game was all about moving on from the zombie apocalypse and a new beginning of humans. Even the menu music has the vibe of hope.

DL1 is still the better game, at least for me. From the grounded look art direction, dynamic lighting and weather system, more densed (more biters) environment, better ragdoll, less copy pasted feeling, and of course the country side DLC.

I really miss dying light 1. Been back and forth into the game many times after numerous times of telling myself that i wont come back. Havent played DL1 since covid 2019. How i wished they added new major things into DL1 than releasing DL2 .

DL2 still lacks small details to make it good like combat needs impact like blood, sfx, physics and graphics needs a step up with map changes and lighting and dynamic sky.

Dying light has a dark and gross tone which I love. The environment is so creepy and very scary. Dying light 2 has a brighter and more beautiful look. While I prefer the dark and dingy. I can’t deny that dying light 2 is such a beautiful game, with the sky and lighting, along with the grass and plants. After all the changes to dying light 2, I’d have to say it is the better game. While dying light was incredible, with its atmosphere and horror, dying light 2 has improved so much that it now rivals with the first. I gotta give props to techland for sticking with this game and improving it so much. If I find myself going back to one of these, I go back to dying light 2. Not only because of the most incredible parkour I’ve ever played in a game, but also because the combat and zombies have improved so much from where they once stood. Also dying light 2 is finally scary with the volatiles at night. The addition of guns is also incredible. They did such an incredible job of implementing them into the game. I can’t believe how far dying light 2 has come.

Though... Dying Light + The Following would be the choice I recommend to most at the moment because of how much good content it has for such a polished game + free fun DLCs and it often goes on sale. I got it at something 90% off, can you believe that? But I wouldn't be mad if someone grabbed DL2 instead, it's such a fun game that I like to play more than DL1 ngl. Mainly because of the combat system and each weapon has its own swinging animation and take-down. And how the parkour ties in with the combat is seamless.

Both are great games, but I think there is still hope for dying light 2 and that it will at some point get better and better through time. Maybe it needs just a few add-ons like the prison heist from dying light1 or a DLC like the following where it would explain what happened to Kyle Crane whether he's alive or not. and I have very high expectations of the game even though it's been a while since it was published but we all know techland and how they listen to us gamers for example take the guns they added guns for us after we requested them

I honestly love DL1 way better....seems more smooth to play. Like the idea of stay human but hate that you cant go around at night time....takes away from the aspect of going out at night when you can just die being outside or in the dark for to long...linda makes you play the game during the daytime at the beginning and cant really explore much at night without the fear of dying.

It's easy for me use your guns in combat situation lile gunfo kick zombies back head shot slide head shot or my favourite slide into them turn around as they hit the ground and bang head shot also grapple then head shot its easy with the pistol even easier with the shot gun and automatic guns

I find them pretty useful so far. The damages are reasonable and not too op. If you have a good aim, they can get the job done without much effort. Against a volatile (or a group), or any strong infected, I admit I prefer using melee. It's not always about effectiveness, sometime it's just to mess around

Ive played nether but it seems like the graphics and depth of the game was traded for gameplay. Its normally a compromise I am about but that being said, DL1 clearly had less developmental compromises. See this point is why all game franchises need to invest in creative writing and scripting because, I would place both games to ride out a good story. I've heard the story is negligible in this game so its like why wouldn't I save 30 bucks and buy the cheaper arguably better one.. for now..

I see how you are cherrypicking things of dl2 to making it look better than dl1, but tbh i like dl1 more than dl2. Dl2 feels unrealistic compared to dl1. There are maybe some little things which makes dl2 looks better than dl1 but in general you can say what you want that dl1 feels and plays better and in many cases it looks better. Btw i have in dl1 ~500h and in dl2 ~400h. I was expecting more in that 7 years of developing dl2. I hope you understand what i mean.

to be fair people were doing the same thing to dl2 when it wasn’t in the best state just pointing out everything it did wrong while forgetting what dl1 did wrong and dl1 didn’t even launch in the best state either. people kept pointing out that dl1 had like 20 more players online which means dl2 is dead but they’ve all went real quiet now that dl2 is peaking dl1s numbers nearly everyday.

@ItaAndyOfficial no the story is good the way it plays out is bad most of the game is just walking from a to b using melee or guns turning something off fighting something big then getting lore bits it's very repetitive compared to something like bioshock where the way its played out is constantly changing which ig it is a linear shooter but like open world games should have more ways of doing shit considering its open world without it being like the same 4 things but with different scenarios not that there bad games its just that there mid I do think the Parkour is a major reason the game is so popular I do love the combat system once you get skills and stuff bc there some silly stuff you can get and the multiplayer was great I just got bored throughout it because I was just doing the same thing over and over again

DL1 had a great story with great gameplay but I feel like that DL2: Stay Human has a much more vast and fun gameplay that DL1 but then again, I could care less about the story in DL2 since it’s kinda irrelevant and focus on the gameplay.

Not gonna lie guns weren’t the best in the first 1 melee is better but I mean yeah dying light 1 is good but dying light 2 is getting there it’s better then launch the dlc was lame dlc2 should be better as it is meant to take place outside the walls and might have elysuem but all I know is it’s gonna be some sort of countryside or nature environment

On series s it's really grainy or blurry and I have had constant screen tearing on two different systems. How they can think the screen tearing is acceptable is beyond me its the first thing I noticed.

They fumbled the bag with dying light 2 the zombies Ai is downgraded the world feels fake unlike haran from dying light and isnt intresting to explore theres nothing to explore its all copy and pasted with no unique areas to find the art design is boring the gore isnt realistic dying light 2 dosent even have physics dying light 2 zombies dont even move around the world they standin one spot until you get close to them and if you get onto a high spot they walk away and stand in the same spot motionless and chases are easy to escape from night isnt night but a filter the sun is just a Jpeg dying light 2 is bad
