Been dying for years Revlon is the best hair color out there and the cheapest lasts the longest!

Dying hair with box dye is like a game of rope pulling. The result on the model is never what you get because a blonde dye can only pull your brunette hair color slightly closer to what the color on the box is. So you need something much lighter than what you see on the box if you want to lighten brown hair. Only a couple of light blonde box dyes can lighten brown hair, but they exist. Always check the grid on the side of the box. I am a medium brunette and I want to go blonde. So, I don't buy dark blonde dye because it is not strong enough to pull medium brown to dark blonde. I need an medium blonde or light blonde.

This is exactly what happened to me , my roots are now a beautiful golden brown but then I have a dark section then lighter so I'll need to darken the roots to even it out

How did this work.. from my past experience this same exact die did nothing to my hair over top of brown. Weird

Sometimes be careful with Ash colors sometimes you will get a greenish tone.

I use this exact hair dye to do a front highlight on my hair ,the color will not exactly come through very light right away it takes time ,days until it gets lighter 👍

It really suits you, like really. I paid over 130 to have mine done professionally and my roots they instantly looked like they were growing out already really pissed. It's like they started highlights half an inch away from my head and it looked terrible so I bought box dye which gave me the blonde I wanted but left my roots orange so I had to go over it with dark ash blonde (which is why I am here 🤗) which I am pissed with what a waste of money. My cynical side is saying they do this so I go back to get them sooner so they get paid more often...😒X

Next time use color oops to remove old dye to give you a clean canvas. This spotting could have been prevented. A demi color with developer is better than drug store dye ,less damaging. Also you're so pretty :)

I wish my dark hair would turn out this pretty from a box dye (and the cheapest, on top of that!). But no, I end up with an ugly, muddy brown or a copper shade like a brand new penny (even with the ones that are supposedly hi-lift). I always need bleach, sadly.

I have bleached hair underneath my medium brown dye, could using blond dye work better than using it on Virgin hair just like you? Should I use a dye that contains bleach or a normal dye will do the trick?

Your so lucky, I used 2 colors medium ash blonde and light ash blonde from ION. And nothing! It was a little red orange on my roots and the rest was dark 😭 and used 40 developer, so I’m thinking I need to bleach it..
