the film was not a hit, so there probably won't be a sequel. to bad, I loved it.

Interestingly, American Assassins actually felt more real. And had a great deal of heart. I'm not always sure reviewers reflect what most folks think or feel. Reviews sometimes feel more formulaic than true. They can also follow trends in what's in or currently accepted. This movie , for me, had good acting, which generally is not always a part of an action thriller. In this pandemic, I have watched many of these films in the genre & this for me kept me engaged. I would be interested in a second movie exploring these characters, in a new situation. Adding other off beat & interesting characters....

I love that Dypan said he hates the repetitive sequalized films....... In the promoting of a film thats likely to be sequalized -- and is the star of a tv show remaking an old film-- and is also part of a sequalized mazerunners films. I just had to laugh at that. I agree with him by the way. But it was ironic.

I think he means more franchised. Like the maze runners were sequels but they were original. Whereas marvel just keeps making v v similar films

Can't really blame Marvel as one reason for the lack of originality in cinema. There are good original movies out that either don't get the exposure or audiences just don't gravitate to them.

Rodney McKay I think he just meant that when mega franchises like marvel are so popular and making so much money, you can see it just keeps growing and attracting new actors and other talents. It is taking away resources from projects that could have potentially been made but didn't because marvel was a greener pasture. It's not just marvel ofcourse, you're right. There's just so many franchises out there. And so many remakes. And many of them are making money whether they were well liked or not.
