Can't wait for mine to arrive - modern responsive 5A caught my interest and while everything else has gotten kind of stale (I may have burned myself out during quarantine), this will give something fresh to learn.

Note - Flat track (aka Center Track) size a bearings are available at raincityskills.com as an add-on, it plays unresponsive with one. You can also clean the bearing and run it dry for unresponsive play.

Cool review man love your stuff. ordered mine yesterday definitely plan on dying mine too. But I'm pretty sure you can pull start it like a hubstack throw too with those silver dimples. at least I think you can from the doc pop and Mr.yoyothrower vids I saw

It balances out high walls and wide pads. 100% right, we could have easily got the same play without, but it's a fun design feature to play with.

Not sure what the problem is. There are plenty of other responsive yoyos in that same price range (or more) and plenty of delrin yoyos in that price range. Eli, is your problem that you associate "responsive" with "beginner"?

Boutique = lower volume and higher priced. It's not aimed at the beginner/budget market. Multiple prototypes, the included counterweight all add up to a higher price. For reference, on wholesale pricing I make $8 profit on them. If I made 1000 and could sell 1000 the price would be lower, but in batches of 100 the machining costs are a lot higher.
