Do More with LES: enhancementsuite.me/
Mac version is out now too!
LES Collaborators:
Inverted Silence: / invertedsilence
Aevi: / aevitunes
Sylvian: sylvian.co/
File report (in case all of the artists who use LES daily don't convince you it's safe): enhancementsuite.me/virustotal
Ignore the false positives from the weird AV's no-one has heard of, the majority of the trustworthy one's (BitDefender, Avast, Avira, Malwarebytes, Microsoft) all say it's safe and that's what's important.
Ableton 10.1 allows for soloing the selected track so the whole end of this video is no longer necessary!! I'll put it below anyways:
Select Track Control (& Kimidi): stc.wiffbi.com/
My old windows "fix" (AutoHotKey & loopMIDI needed): bit.ly/STCforWinAbleton

Logic. By emagic GmbH. When I tried it in late 90s on PC, it had no undo function. It simply demanded you to be perfect. The perfect software for perfect people who never make mistakes. Interesting MIDI scripting feature, but you couldn't layer it like a VST, editing was destructive, and oh so very destructive.
@na-qi2gj
@na-qi2gj 5 жыл бұрын
Siana Gearz Yeah... that was the late 90s mate... It is a hella lot better now trust me! Some examples of people who use logic: Nicky Romero, Magnificence, musicbyLUKAS Mike Williams, Disclosure, Kendrick Lamar.
@SianaGearz
@SianaGearz 5 жыл бұрын
@@na-qi2gj yah yah I know. But I shared this largely forgotten fact because i thought it was funny. Apple be like "we gun buy them the moment they can implement proper undo", bam! I think decent undo wasn't all that common or all that stable across various software, but its lack was especially painful and a pity in Logic back then specifically because it could do pretty neat things.

@@na-qi2gj Nicky Romero made a plugin that makes your audio channel duck in accordance to a connected LFO. Let that sink in, a musician who's too lazy to sidechain. Logic is bad, there's no two ways around it anyhow. Sure it looks sexy, and runs relatively well, but it's nobodies first choice of a DAW unless you plan on stealing Apple loops and calling that "your music".

Get LES here (it's free!): enhancementsuite.me/ 12:27 Small correction: Save as new version is "Ctrl + Alt + S" not "Ctrl + Alt + Space" oopsie woopise Also we found a MUCH SIMPLER solution to the whole Windows work-around at the end of the video (thank you Endre)! It uses a MaxForLive device instead. You add one, link the button to a key and it works on all tracks. The link is in the description. It's not perfect though (read description why) so I'll still be using my convoluted ahk/loopMIDI method.

This is fucking LIT. Seriously the best thing I've seen come out of the producer community. Thank you so much! I'm experiencing *zero* bugs, but I do have one question: Is there anyway to create our own piano roll chord functions? I usually write in FOLD mode, and I'd like to add more chord combinations to LES that work specifically in FOLD.

Learnt a few new tricks, thanks :) Here's a few I didn't see mentioned: - You can also preview existing chords/notes in the clip view by pressing the left and right arrow keys (assuming blue headphone switch is turned on). And if you hold notes and press the left/right arrow keys you can input or remove chords/notes. Kind of a like a step editor. (I also find the ctrl-1 and ctrl-2 keys handy for changing the grid size when doing things like this. And as an aside ctrl-4 will toggle grid quantization on and off) - I have file analysis off by default to avoid all those .asd files, but you can still have Live create .asd files for specific samples you've been working on (warping) by clicking Save in that audio clip's Sample Box. - You can already hide and unhide (but not close) all visible plugin UIs with ctrl-alt-P. But I found Alt Gr + P works as a more convenient shortcut (if you have the Alt Gr key anyway)

8:17 I followed the video and found a couple things he didn't explain. 1. to achieve this you have to map the chain itself to the macro key by right click area above the 0-127 grid. 2. This way doesn't give the same sound as mapping dry/wet button of the effects to the macro key, so you have to listen and compare which one you like more. I personally use this way only if the effect doesn't have dry/wet dial, but don't use this just to shortcut mapping group of effects. Anyway this is super awesome video. Thank you Dylan!

@@be8972 I have also noticed this happening even though I do not use the "Mute" hotkey. However, in my opinion the benefits of these hotkeys save more time in total than not using them. Note; I counter this issue with the Utility-effect set to mute.
@DylanTallchief
@DylanTallchief 5 жыл бұрын
I've used it a bit now. There's a few problems like if you any muted tracks they will all un-mute next time you reload the project, and the Solo feature isn't "exclusive".
