Hey gang, this is a re-edit of the videos I did on the Dynacorn floor pan install in a 1965 Mustang. This would apply to the 65-70 cars. Some good information here, and I show that I did it with simple tools. The only issue would be the later fitting of the firewall.

It is amazing to me that in 1965 how they could design, spec each piece to fit and form this car or any car or truck without a calculator or computer aid. 1,231 body parts stamped from metal, tapped and bang by hammer into place to be welded. I have seen movies clips of the assembly line where guys are using blocks of wood behind a door and slamming it to make a nice fit. Amazing!

I remember when you first posted this video and always enjoyed watching it again and how you instilled it and duplicating all the spot welds thumbs up 👍👍👍👍👍

What a treat - thanks, Barry! This video was my introduction to you, and what you do, and what a great instructor you are. I came across this video, five years ago, just as I was contemplating sending my '66 coupe to the crusher. I had no idea how to proceed. I didn't know plasma cutters existed, and I'd never welded a stitch. Now, I'm a couple months (I hope) away from firing-up my car, which I've built from the floor up, all by myself, thanks to you. Can't thank you enough. Wish I had your video skills; I would love to share some shots of the build, but as I say, this wonderful adventure is all because of you. Can't thank you enough.

I also had to manipulate my car's original outer rocker panels to this same dynacorn one piece floor on my '69. It had me somewhat concerned that I had to push the rear part of the rocker up to get the inner and outer panels to line up similar to what you have done here so seeing this puts me a little at ease. Taking lots of side to side measurements for comparison as well. Thank you for the detailed videos!

I find it intriguing that a classic was built with a certain gauge of sheet metal and the powers that be require a restoration to have the same structural welds with no regard to the fact that the reproduction parts are made from a thinner gauge material thus changing the factory rigidity that the powers that be say cannot be altered by altering the weld pattern and location.

The weld requirements only apply to modern collision work. I mentioned that in the video.

Quick question, and awesome video, i need to tackle this on my 69 and also saw the cobra jet build you are doing, i saw that you had supported the rear with a pulley and the front with jacks, but if you didnt have a pulley to lift rear, do you think the outer rockers would be able to hold up if the inner rockers are out of the car? I was planning on using leveling jacks to keep everything square, sliding the assembly, jacking it up to height and match, measure everything then weld the new piece in.

As long as the structure is solid you can do that.

I start with the bottom of the car and work my way up. Like a house, you need a good foundation.
